Ather Energy has started 2026 on a strong note as its family focused electric scooter, the Ather Rizta, recorded impressive sales growth in January. The company sold 20,155 units of the Rizta in January 2026, marking a 68% increase compared to 11,978 units sold during the same month last year. A Record Month For Ather Energy

The Rizta also recorded strong growth compared to the previous month. Ather sold 14,282 units in December 2025, and sales increased by 41 percent in January 2026. This performance helped Ather Energy achieve total sales of 25,765 units in January 2026 across its lineup. With this growth, Ather has become the eighth largest two wheeler brand in India, reflecting the rapid expansion of the electric vehicle segment.

Rising Demand For Ather Rizta

The Rizta has quickly become Ather’s highest selling model. It currently ranks among the top selling electric scooters in India, following models such as the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.

The scooter has also crossed an important milestone, with more than two lakh units sold since launch. In recent months, Rizta sales have consistently remained ahead of the Ola S1 range in monthly performance.

It has also focused on improving usability for Indian customers. The company recently introduced Tamil language support for the Rizta Z dashboard during the Pongal festival, adding to existing Hindi and Kannada language options.

Ather Rizta available in two variants, Rizta S and Rizta Z.

Pricing and Ownership Benefits

Ather has also introduced flexible ownership options through its Battery as a Service model (BaaS). Under this plan, the starting price of the Rizta drops to around Rs 75,999, reducing the upfront cost for buyers.

The company currently operates more than 524 experience centers across India and continues to expand its presence in international markets such as Nepal and Sri Lanka. This growing network supports easier adoption of electric mobility.

 Rizta’s Success

The strong performance of the Ather Rizta shows a clear shift in buyer preference within India’s electric scooter market. Earlier, many electric scooters focused mainly on sporty performance and advanced technology.

Mainly, it has focused on comfort, storage space and practical features that suit family usage. This approach has helped the brand reach a wider group of customers.

The 68% sales growth also reflects increasing trust in electric mobility and improved confidence in EV ownership. By combining practical features, local language support and flexible battery subscription plans, Ather has addressed common concerns related to cost and usability.

As charging infrastructure improves and EV adoption grows, the Rizta is well positioned to remain a strong choice for families looking for an efficient and convenient electric scooter.
