Ather Rizta Records Strong Sales Growth with 68% Rise in January 2026 and explained why demand is rising
The Ather Rizta electric scooter posted strong growth figures last month in the domestic market. The company retailed a total of 20,155 units of the e-scooter in January 2026. This compares to 11,978 units in January 2025, YoY sales grew by 68%.
MoM sales also rose significantly by 41%. December 2025 saw 14,282 units of the Rizta sold. These growth figures demonstrate strong market acceptance for the model.
Ather Energy Becomes Eighth Biggest Brand
Ather Energy's overall sales stood at 25,765 units last month. This compares against 17,494 units in January 2025. The company became the eighth biggest two-wheeler brand in the Indian market. This ranking reflects the brand's growing influence in the market.
Rizta Leads Company Sales
The Rizta e-scooter has been the highest-selling model for the brand for the last few months. It has also been the third best-selling electric scooter in the Indian market. TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak rank ahead of the Rizta.
It has been outnumbering Ola's S1 range of electric scooters by a decent margin. This performance has continued over several months. Recently, the Rizta surpassed the 2 lakh units sales milestone. This achievement demonstrates the model's popularity.
Tamil Language Update For Pongal
Last month, Ather Energy added Tamil language on the dashboard of the Rizta Z. This update commemorated the festival of Pongal. The Tamil rolled out as an over-the-air (OTA) update across the entire Rizta Z range. The update became active on the scooter's instrument panel from this month in a phased manner.
Apart from Tamil, riders have access to Hindi and Kannada languages as well. This multilingual support enhances user experience for diverse customers.
Rizta Trim Options And Range
Ather Rizta is presented as the company's first family electric scooter. The scooter is offered in two trims namely S and Z. The S trim provides an IDC range of 123 km. The Z trim delivers an IDC range of 159 km.

The Rizta gets 34 litres under seat storage area. An optional 22 litres frunk accessory is available for additional storage. The floorboard is quite spacious and provides decent legroom for the rider. Small belongings can also be stored on the floorboard.

The Rizta is packed with advanced features for safety and connectivity. SkidControl enhances stability during braking. Live Location Sharing allows riders to share their location with others. Ping My Scooter feature is available for the Rizta Z only. Fall Safe detects falls and alerts emergency contacts. Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) warns following vehicles during sudden stops. Tow & Theft Alerts protect the scooter from theft.
Future Touchscreen Functionality
In August 2025 at the Annual Community Day, the company announced that it will bring touchscreen functionality for the Rizta range. This upgrade will enhance the user interface and provide more interactive controls.

The Ather Rizta is not only sold in India but also in multiple global markets. Nepal and Sri Lanka represent key international markets for the scooter. Presently, Ather Energy has more than 524 Experience Centres (dealerships) across the country. This extensive network ensures wide availability and customer support.
BaaS Subscription Model And Pricing
The Rizta is available with the BaaS subscription model. This model reduces the upfront pricing by a huge extent. The scooter is priced at just Rs 75,999 (ex-showroom). This pricing makes the Rizta accessible to more buyers.
