The Suzuki Jimny, a well-known off-road vehicle, has received new updates in Japan. These changes are for the three-door model. The longer five-door Jimny Nomade is a newer model, so it did not get these updates. The Jimny was first made in 1970. It was a small 4x4 with a 359 cc engine. Over the years, it became known worldwide as the Suzuki Samurai. The fourth version of the Jimny came out in 2018, and the five-door model in 2023.

Design Stays Mostly the Same

Suzuki has kept the Jimny’s outside look largely unchanged. The car is known for its boxy shape. Both the regular and the narrower kei-spec versions will continue to have their distinct sizes. The kei-spec model follows Japan’s small car rules. It does not have the wider fenders seen on the global Jimny Sierra. This kei-spec model also has small extra mirrors under the main mirrors. Both come with Suzuki’s part-time four-wheel-drive system.

The updated Jimny is now available for sale in Japan. Prices start at ¥1,918,400, which is about Rs. 11.18 lakh, for the narrow-body model. The Jimny Sierra costs up to ¥2,385,900, around Rs. 13.91 lakh. The optional 9-inch touchscreen adds ¥128,700, or about Rs. 75,000, to the price.
