The new, third-generation Renault Duster has officially arrived in India. This model is a complete redesign, built on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP). It brings a fresh look, much better safety, and a more premium list of features. This makes it a stronger competitor in the midsize SUV market than before. Prices for the Duster start at Rs. 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Engine Options and Performance

The new Duster offers three engine choices:

  • 1.0-liter Turbo Petrol: This engine produces 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

  • 1.3-liter Turbo Petrol: This more powerful engine delivers 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission.

  • Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160: This is a key highlight. It combines a 1.8-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.4 kWh battery. This hybrid system allows the Duster to drive on electric power alone for up to 80 percent of the time in city conditions.

Pricing and Booking Information

Prices for the Duster range from Rs 10.49 lakh for the base model up to Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The strong hybrid version is expected to arrive by Diwali 2026, but it is already fully booked for that year. Bookings for the Duster opened earlier with a token amount of Rs. 21,000. Most customers have chosen the turbocharged petrol variants. Deliveries for the standard petrol models will begin in April, while the hybrid will reach customers closer to the festive season.

Dimensions and Practicality

The new Duster is well-sized for the midsize SUV segment:

  • Length: 4,346 mm

  • Width: 1,815 mm

  • Height: 1,703 mm

  • Wheelbase: 2,657 mm

  • Ground Clearance: 212 mm

  • Boot Space: 700 liters

Exterior Design: Bold and Muscular

The Duster’s exterior features a muscular design that looks different from its global version. It has a trapezoidal grille with special accents, full-LED lighting, and an upright stance, giving it a strong road presence. Thick body cladding, redesigned bumpers, and 18-inch alloy wheels further enhance its SUV appeal.

Interior: Modern and Feature-Rich

Inside, the new Renault Duster offers a modern cabin. It includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google services and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Over 60 connected features are available through Renault’s app. Other interior highlights include:

  • Ventilated and power-adjustable front seats

  • Dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 air filtration

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Powered tailgate

  • More than 30 liters of total storage space
