2026 Maruti Brezza Facelift Spied With New Front End and CNG Upgrade
Updated 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Front End Spied in India
Introduction
Maruti Suzuki has started testing the updated 2026 Brezza, and the first clear images of the facelifted model’s front end have surfaced online. A heavily camouflaged test car was seen on public roads, giving an early look at the mid-cycle update for the compact SUV. While the rest of the body was covered, the front fascia was exposed enough to confirm that Maruti is preparing subtle but important design changes. The current Brezza has been on sale since 2022, and this refresh is aimed at keeping it strong against rivals such as the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. More importantly, the latest spy shots reveal a significant technical upgrade that could set the 2026 Brezza apart from every other CNG SUV in the segment.
Front-End Changes and Exterior Updates
The updated Brezza does not appear to be undergoing a full redesign. Instead, the front profile shows a refined version of the current styling. The grille seems to have been reshaped, and the outline of the headlights suggests a cleaner, more modern look. The bumper also appears to carry sharper lines, which should give the SUV a slightly more aggressive stance. Maruti seems committed to keeping the same glasshouse and profile, meaning the overall shape will stay familiar. At the rear, the facelift is expected to get revised tail lamps, and the alloy wheels seen on the test car look close to the present design. These conservative updates follow Maruti’s usual strategy of refreshing the Brezza without moving away from the formula that made it a bestseller.
Underfloor CNG Layout
The most notable discovery from the spy shots is a CNG sticker on the rear windshield. This matches earlier sightings of a Brezza test car fitted with an underfloor CNG tank. If Maruti brings this system into production, it will address the biggest issue associated with CNG cars: boot space loss. Traditional CNG setups place the tank inside the boot, reducing luggage room and limiting family use. By moving the tank beneath the floor, Maruti can offer a full-size boot along with the fuel savings of CNG. The Victoris already uses this system, so seeing it on the Brezza suggests Maruti wants to push this layout across its popular models. This change alone can make the 2026 Brezza one of the most practical CNG SUVs in India.
ADAS and Powertrain Expectations
There is a strong possibility that the updated Brezza will offer Level 2 ADAS features. Rumours point to adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and emergency braking as part of the package. These additions would help the Brezza keep pace with rivals that now offer advanced safety tech. The test mule did not show visible sensors, but manufacturers often hide ADAS hardware behind camouflage during early testing. On the mechanical side, Maruti is expected to continue with the familiar 1.5 litre K15C petrol engine. The petrol version is likely to retain its output of around 102 bhp and 137 Nm. The CNG version should continue to produce about 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. Gearbox options are expected to remain the same, with a manual for both fuel types and a six speed automatic for the petrol.
Deep Analysis: CNG Innovation Gives Brezza a Strong Advantage
The most important takeaway from the latest test mule is the underfloor CNG tank. This change directly addresses long-standing feedback from CNG buyers and places Maruti well ahead of rivals in the same segment. Compact SUVs like the Nexon CNG still use a boot-mounted tank, which limits storage and reduces practicality. By offering a full boot in the CNG variant, the 2026 Brezza can appeal to families who want low running costs without giving up usability. The decision also aligns with Maruti’s broader strategy of improving safety and practicality. The earlier update of six airbags as standard created a strong base, and the expected addition of Level 2 ADAS will strengthen the package even further. With design updates, a more efficient CNG layout and proven engines, the 2026 Brezza is shaping up to be one of the most important launches in its segment.
