Aprilia RS 457 GP Replica and Vespa Scooter Models Unveiled at EICMA 2025

Piaggio Group Unveils Aprilia and Vespa Models at EICMA 2025

The Piaggio Group revealed a mix of new bikes and scooters from Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and Vespa at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan. The event brought together the biggest names in the motorcycle industry and highlighted Piaggio’s focus on both performance and design.

Aprilia’s New Launches

Aprilia introduced two key models at the event: the SR GT 400 scooter and the RS 457 GP Replica sportbike.

The SR GT 400 adds a larger, more powerful option to Aprilia’s scooter lineup. It uses a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 36 horsepower and weighs 186 kilograms. It features long-travel suspension and semi dual-purpose tyres, making it suitable for both city and rough roads. The scooter also includes a 5-inch TFT display, keyless start, traction control, and adjustable ABS.

At the other end of Aprilia’s lineup is the RS 457 GP Replica. This sportbike takes design inspiration from Aprilia’s MotoGP machine. It uses the same 47 hp twin-cylinder engine as the standard RS 457 but adds a bidirectional quickshifter, upgraded brake pads, and a single-seat cowl. Its black livery mirrors the look of Aprilia’s RS GP race bike. The GP Replica weighs just 175 kilograms, keeping it light and agile.

Aprilia also refreshed its Factory range, including the RSV4, Tuono V4, RS 660, and Tuono 660. The updated graphics now follow aerodynamic lines based on airflow studies done using CFD technology.

Vespa’s 80th Anniversary

Vespa marked its 80th anniversary with the next-generation Primavera and Sprint S scooters. Both models have been redesigned for 2026 with new frames, five-spoke 12-inch wheels, and better ergonomics. They also include front ABS, rear disc brakes, keyless ignition, and a full-LCD instrument cluster.

The Primavera features a clean, modern look, while the Sprint S has a new five-slot side grille that recalls Vespa’s sporty heritage. Vespa also unveiled 80th Anniversary Editions of the Primavera and GTS, finished in a soft Verde Pastello color with special badges.

Author's Note:

Piaggio’s EICMA 2025 lineup shows a clear plan to strengthen its two main segments: high-performance motorcycles and stylish urban scooters.

The RS 457 GP Replica gives riders a ready-to-ride track experience and competes directly with the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and KTM RC 390. The new SR GT 400 fits growing demand for adventure-style scooters, combining comfort and capability for daily and long-distance riding.

Vespa’s updates show a focus on blending traditional design with modern technology, keeping the brand fresh for younger riders.

Together, these launches show Piaggio’s balanced approach to innovation—performance for enthusiasts and modern convenience for everyday riders.
