Tata Curvv and Curvv EV Get New Luxury Features, Prices Remain Same

Tata Motors updates the Curvv and Curvv EV with premium features like ventilated rear seats, rear sunshades, and TwinZone AC — all without a price hike

Tata Motors has updated its Curvv and Curvv EV models with a set of new, high-end features. The company has made these changes without increasing the prices of the cars. The updated models have already reached dealerships, and deliveries are ongoing. The Curvv ICE starts at Rs 14.55 lakh, and the Curvv EV starts at Rs 18.49 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).

New Executive Features Added

The updates focus on improving comfort and luxury inside the cabin. The new features have been added to the top-end trims: the Accomplished trim for the Curvv ICE, and the Accomplished and Empowered variants for the Curvv EV.

The new features for both models include:

  • R-Comfort Seats with Passive Ventilation: Tata Motors calls this India’s first such feature.

  • Serenity Screen Rear Sunshades: These help keep the rear cabin cool and private.

  • EasySip Cup Docks on Rear Armrest: A convenient addition for rear passengers.

  • TwinZone Climate Concierge Air Conditioning: This allows for better temperature control.

The Curvv EV also gets two exclusive features:

  • PureComfort Rear Co-Passenger Footrest

  • ErgoWing Headrest

Interior Design and Safety

The interior now features a more premium look, dashboard has a white carbon fibre finish, and the upholstery uses a lighter shade called Lalitpur Grey with Plush Benecke-Kaliko Leatherette Seats. Tata Motors says the interior space has been significantly increased in both the ICE and EV versions.

Both models offer a large 500-litre boot capacity and Curvv has also received the highest 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. Safety is further enhanced by Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology.

Platform and Powertrain

The Curvv ICE is built on the advanced ATLAS platform, while the Curvv EV uses the acti.ev architecture.

The engine options for the Curvv ICE are:

  • 1.2L Revotron petrol engine: This turbocharged engine makes 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque.

  • 1.5L KryoJet diesel engine: This engine makes 116 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque.

Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a DCT automatic gearbox.

The Curvv EV is available with two battery packs:

  • 45 kWh battery pack, producing 147 bhp of power.

  • 55 kWh battery pack, producing 164 bhp of power.

Both battery packs deliver the same torque output of 210 Nm.

Author's Analysis

Tata Motors' decision to add significant executive features to the Curvv and Curvv EV without changing the price is a smart move to increase their value proposition in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. The Curvv EV, in particular, is positioned below the Harrier EV in the brand's electric line-up, and these updates help it stand out against rivals like the MG ZS EV. The inclusion of features like passive ventilated rear seats and rear sunshades directly targets the comfort of rear-seat passengers, a key factor for many Indian buyers. The 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and Level 2 ADAS provide a strong safety foundation, which is a major selling point against competitors like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. By offering more features for the same price, Tata Motors is effectively challenging its rivals to match the value, especially in the EV space where the Curvv EV’s acti.ev platform and dual battery options offer flexibility. This strategy is likely to boost sales and solidify the Curvv's position as a feature-rich and safe option in its class.
