Tata Tiago EV Facelift Spotted Testing Ahead of Expected 2026 Launch

Tata Tiago EV Facelift Spotted Testing: What to Expect from the 2026 Update

New spy photos show that Tata Motors is working on a much-improved version of the Tata Tiago EV. The changes seem bigger than we first thought. Even though the test car still has some parts hidden, many visible details point to a big change in its look. The inside of the car will also likely feel more expensive and well-made.

Premium Interior Upgrades

Inside the new Tiago EV, we expect better material quality and surface finishes, making the cabin feel more premium. Tata might also add new features like wireless smartphone charging and more advanced connected vehicle functions. The infotainment system could become larger, and the car might get a fully digital instrument display. A new steering wheel, similar to those in Tata’s newest models, could also appear.

Exterior Design Changes

The front of the car appears to have new LED lighting units and slim LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Tata has also reshaped the nose of the car, suggesting a new upper panel and a more sculpted bumper design. From the side, the door mirrors look larger than before. This often means they include surround-view camera hardware, which helps with parking and safety. The alloy wheels are completely covered, hinting that Tata might use aero-styled wheels to improve how the car moves through the air. An interesting detail is a raised part along the roofline, which suggests the car will have a factory-fitted electric sunroof. We also expect changes at the back, with new patterns for the lighting cluster and a redesigned rear bumper.

Market Position and Launch Timeline

The introduction of the Punch EV has created some internal competition within Tata’s EV portfolio at the entry-level. The new Tiago EV, with its improved range and more premium features, could help Tata sell more units. We expect the updated Tiago EV to launch before the end of this year. Tata also has other electric vehicles, the Sierra EV and Avinya, planned for 2026.

Expected Mechanical Enhancements

At this point, any mechanical updates are still guesses. The current Tata Tiago EV offers two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. These give the car a real-world range of about 168 km and 205 km, respectively. We expect Tata to introduce the larger 30 kWh battery unit, which is already in the recently updated Punch EV. This bigger battery allows the Punch EV to travel over 265 km in real-world conditions. This upgrade would significantly improve the Tiago EV’s range capabilities.
