New Tata Punch EV Gets BaaS Plan, Lifetime Battery Warranty & Dual Loan Scheme

Explore the Tata Punch EV's BaaS, lifetime battery warranty, and dual loan scheme. Learn how these programs make electric car ownership more affordable and worry-free.

Tata Motors has introduced new ownership options for the Tata Punch EV to make electric cars easier for Indian buyers. The company is focusing on reducing the starting price and lowering long term ownership worries. With new finance plans battery support and flexible payment options Tata aims to help more families move to electric vehicles. These updates include a Battery as a Service plan lifetime battery warranty and a new dual loan scheme designed to simplify monthly payments.

Lower Starting Price With Battery as a Service Plan

One of the biggest updates is the Battery as a Service or BaaS program. Under this plan buyers do not need to pay for the battery cost at the time of purchase. Because of this the Tata Punch EV now starts at ₹6.49 lakh, owners then pay ₹2.6 per kilometer as a battery usage charge. This system reduces the upfront price and makes electric car ownership closer to petrol car pricing with this buyers can enter the EV market with a lower investment while paying for battery usage during daily driving.

Lifetime Battery Support for Peace of Mind

Tata Motors is also offering a lifetime battery warranty for first owners of the 40 kWh variant. This warranty remains valid for up to 15 years with unlimited kilometers, If battery health drops below 70% during this period Tata will replace the battery. This move directly addresses one of the biggest concerns buyers have about electric vehicles which is long term battery life.

Dual Loan Plan Designed for Easy Monthly Payments

To further improve affordability Tata has introduced a dual loan structure. In this system the vehicle and battery costs are financed separately which helps keep monthly payments similar to traditional petrol or diesel cars. The plan allows buyers to manage ownership costs more comfortably while switching to electric mobility.

Battery Options Range and Performance

The Tata Punch EV comes with two battery choices. The 30 kWh battery offers an ARAI certified range of 265 km and the larger one 40 kWh battery delivers up to 468 km of claimed range while real world driving range is around 355 km.

The electric motor produces 130 PS of power and the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds. The Punch EV also delivers more than 2000 Nm wheel torque which helps during city driving and quick acceleration. With 195 mm ground clearance and 450 mm water wading ability the SUV remains suitable for Indian road conditions.

Fast Charging Makes Daily Use Easy

Using a 65 kW DC fast charger the battery can charge from 20 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes. A quick 15 minute charge can add nearly 135 km of driving range which makes long trips more practical.

Smart Electric Technology Inside

Tata uses an advanced X in 1 electric drive system in the Punch EV. This setup combines six major components into one compact unit.

This design reduces space usage by 50% and lowers weight by 28%. Efficiency improves by nearly 6% while wiring requirements drop by 30%. Semiconductor usage also reduces by around 40 percent which improves overall system efficiency.

An advanced thermal management system helps maintain battery temperature and cabin comfort in different weather conditions.
