2026 Hyundai Verna Launched in India

Hyundai Motor India has launched the updated 2026 Hyundai Verna in the Indian market. The sedan now comes with more than 25 changes across design, technology, comfort, and safety.

The starting price of the 2026 Verna is Rs. 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to compete in the midsize sedan segment with cars like the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

With this update, Hyundai aims to strengthen the Verna’s position by offering more premium features, advanced safety technology, and powerful engine options.

Exterior Design

The 2026 Hyundai Verna now gets several design updates that give it a more modern and bold appearance.

At the front, the sedan features a black chrome radiator grille along with dual LED projector headlamps. Hyundai has also redesigned the front and rear bumpers, which add a sharper and sportier look.

Another visible change is the new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, which enhance the overall styling.

Despite the updates, the Verna keeps its large dimensions. The sedan measures 4,565 mm in length and 1,765 mm in width with a 2,670 mm wheelbase. These proportions make it one of the widest cars in its segment, which helps provide a spacious cabin for passengers.

Interior Features

Inside the cabin, Hyundai has introduced several comfort and convenience upgrades. The interior now includes a D cut steering wheel and leatherette seat upholstery. The driver’s seat gets 8 way electric adjustment with memory function, while the front passenger seat offers 4 way electric adjustment. These features are usually seen in higher priced vehicles and add to the premium feel of the cabin.

The sedan also introduces several segment first features, including:

• Rear window sunshade for better comfort and privacy

• Passenger seat electric walk-in device to help rear passengers enter and exit easily

• Smart trunk with 528 litres of boot space that opens automatically when the key is nearby

Digital Cockpit and Technology

The 2026 Verna features dual 10.25 inch integrated screens on the dashboard. One screen works as the infotainment system for navigation and entertainment, while the other functions as the digital instrument cluster. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing easy smartphone connectivity.

Other technology features include:

• Wireless phone charging

• Ventilated front seats

• Electric sunroof

Hyundai has also included Bluelink connected car technology, which offers more than 70 connected features and over 350 voice commands for controlling various vehicle functions. For audio, the Verna comes with a Bose premium sound system with 8 speakers.

The car also features a switchable infotainment and climate control interface, allowing drivers to easily switch between infotainment controls and air conditioning settings.

The 2026 Hyundai Verna continues to offer two petrol engine options.

1.5 litre MPi Petrol Engine

• Transmission: 6 speed manual or IVT automatic

1.5 litre Turbo GDi Petrol Engine

• Power: 160 PS

• Torque: 253 Nm

• Transmission: 6 speed manual or 7 speed dual clutch automatic

The turbo engine remains one of the most powerful options in the midsize sedan segment.

Safety Features

Hyundai has placed strong focus on safety in the 2026 Verna. The sedan now offers more than 75 safety features along with 35 standard safety technologies.

The car comes with seven airbags as standard, including a center airbag for additional protection.

It also features Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, which includes 20 driver assistance functions designed to help prevent accidents.
