3 Upcoming Mid-Size Sedans In India 2026 – Slavia, City, Virtus

Skoda Slavia, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus facelifts are expected in 2026 with updated design

Mid-Size Sedan Segment Getting Fresh Options

After the Hyundai Verna got a new look recently, another three mid-size sedans are going to the Indian market in 2026. These updated models will offer buyers new features, modern designs, and better technology in the 10-20 lakh price bracket.

1. Volkswagen Virtus Getting A New Design

Volkswagen's Virtus sedan came out in June 2022 and is now getting a major update around the end of Q3 2026. The German automaker is planning big changes to the outside of the car. The front will have a new grille and possibly a lit-up VW logo, which is new for the Virtus. New bumpers, 16-inch wheels, and updated headlights and tail lights will complete the outside changes.

The inside gets upgrades including a 10.25-inch fully digital display and a new back seat with massage function for the two outer passengers. The current 10.1-inch touchscreen stays but gets a new Gemini voice assistant. Like the Skoda Slavia, the Virtus will also get an 8-speed automatic gearbox instead of the current 6-speed one paired with the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

2. Skoda Slavia Gets A New Look In Q3 2026

Skoda will bring an updated version of the Slavia sedan in the third quarter of 2026. The model originally came out in February 2022 and is now getting its first major update.

The front and back get a complete makeover with a new grille, new bumpers, and fresh headlights and tail lights. The lower air opening has been changed while new 16-inch wheels complete the outside changes.

Inside the car, Skoda has added a 10.25-inch fully digital display and an updated 10.1-inch touchscreen with a Gemini voice assistant. The back seat now has a massage function for the two outer passengers, adding comfort for those sitting behind. On the engine side, Skoda is changing the 6-speed automatic gearbox to an 8-speed one for the 1.0-litre TSI engine option.

3. Honda City Getting A New Version

Honda's fifth-generation City came out in July 2020 and got its first update in March 2023. The company is now preparing another version for later in 2026 to keep the model competitive. The sixth-generation City is still two years away, so this update will help keep the current model looking modern.

The new City will have new bumpers and grilles along with 16-inch wheels. Inside, Honda plans to add power-adjustable and ventilated front seats for better comfort. The engine and gearbox stay the same with no new options expected. This update focuses on keeping the design modern and adding features that buyers want.

What Buyers Should Know

The sedan segment in India has faced competition from SUVs in recent years. By adding modern features, new designs, and better technology, these three models aim to attract buyers who prefer the sedan body style.

If you are looking for a mid-size sedan in the 10-20 lakh range, 2026 brings new choices. These updates mean you will get newer technology, modern styling, and better comfort features compared to older models. The addition of features like fully digital displays, voice assistants, and massage seats shows how the segment is changing. Buyers can expect prices to stay competitive as manufacturers want to keep their market share in this important segment.

When Will They Launch

Buyers interested in these sedans should note when they are coming. The Skoda Slavia update is expected around Q3 2026, while the Honda City version is planned for later in 2026. The Volkswagen Virtus update is scheduled for around the end of Q3 2026. This means buyers will have multiple options to choose from within a short timeframe.
