BMW F 450 GS and Norton Atlas GT Spotted Testing Together in India - May Launch Soon

TVS is preparing the BMW F 450 GS and Norton Atlas GT for launch in India as both ADV bikes were recently spotted testing

TVS Motor Company is working on several new motorcycles that will be sold under its different brands. The company currently sells bikes under the TVS brand, BMW Motorrad brand, and Norton Motorcycles brand. Last year, TVS launched its first adventure motorcycle called the Apache RTX 300. Now the company is preparing two more adventure motorcycles.

The upcoming motorcycles are the BMW F 450 GS and the Norton Atlas GT. Both models were recently spotted testing together on Indian roads. The two adventure bikes were first showcased at EICMA 2025, one of the world's biggest motorcycle exhibitions, and their latest test sightings suggest that a launch may not be far away.

TVS and BMW Partnership

TVS Motor and BMW Motorrad have been working together for many years. Earlier, both companies developed motorcycles using a shared 310cc engine platform. This platform was used for bikes like the BMW G 310 series and the TVS Apache RR 310.

Now the two companies are working on a new twin cylinder engine platform. The production version is expected to have an engine capacity of around 420cc. When BMW first showed the concept version of the F 450 GS, it had a 450cc engine. However, the production version is expected to use a 420cc engine.

The new platform will be manufactured at TVS Motor’s Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu, where production reportedly started in November 2025.

BMW F 450 GS

The BMW F 450 GS will be the first motorcycle to use this new engine platform. The bike has already been seen testing multiple times and has also been officially shown by BMW.

Two versions of the bike are expected. One version will come with regular spoke wheels, while another version called the Trophy variant will feature cross spoke wheels. The version recently spotted testing in India had the regular spoke wheels.

The motorcycle follows the modern design style of other BMW GS adventure bikes. It gets LED lighting at the front and rear and a 6.5 inch digital TFT display that shows important riding information.

The suspension setup includes fully adjustable USD front forks and an off set rear mono shock. Braking duties are handled by single disc brakes at the front and rear, along with dual channel ABS for better braking safety. The bike is also expected to offer several electronic rider aids to improve stability and control.

Power will come from a 420cc twin cylinder liquid cooled engine that is expected to produce around 47 bhp and 43 Nm of torque. In India, the BMW F 450 GS will compete with motorcycles such as the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and Kawasaki Versys X 300.

BMW Group India CEO Hardeep Singh Brar has also indicated that the motorcycle is expected to launch in India in the first half of 2026.

Norton Atlas GT

Norton Motorcycles is owned by TVS Motor. Norton is a well known British motorcycle brand with a long history. TVS acquired the brand and is investing heavily to revive it with several new models.

The Norton Atlas GT is one of four motorcycles planned by the brand. The other models include the Atlas, Manx, and Manx R.

The Atlas GT is designed mainly for touring and long distance riding. While it shares similarities with the regular Atlas model, the GT version focuses more on road comfort and touring ability. The motorcycle will be built on a trellis frame and is expected to come with 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels.

Power will come from a 585cc parallel twin liquid cooled engine paired with a 6 speed gearbox. The engine is expected to produce around 70 horsepower.

The Norton Atlas GT is likely to be one of the first Norton motorcycles to launch in India after TVS acquired the brand, and it could go on sale in the country in the coming months.
