KTM Bikes Now Come With 4-Year Standard Warranty Globally
KTM introduces a 4-year standard warranty for all street-legal bikes from the 2025 model
KTM has made a major change to its bike warranty policy, announcing that it will offer a 4-year standard warranty globally for motorcycles from the 2025 model year onward. The warranty applies to all street-legal bikes regardless of engine size or segment and covers several categories, including adventure bikes, dual sport bikes, naked bikes, supersport bikes, sports tourer bikes, and supermoto bikes. However, motorcycles that are used only on the track or designed for closed-course racing will not be covered under this warranty.
What does the warranty cover?
Under this policy, the 4-year warranty mainly covers the engine, and KTM will repair or replace it free of charge if any issue occurs during the coverage period.
Coverage begins automatically as soon as the bike is purchased, and there is no specific procedure that needs to be followed.
Another important point is that the coverage applies to the bike and not to the owner, which means that even if you sell the bike later, the new owner will still be able to use the remaining warranty benefits.
What to do to ensure the warranty continues
To keep your bike under warranty, you must follow the service schedule prescribed by KTM and ensure that all servicing is carried out at an authorized KTM dealer. Any repairs or maintenance done at an unauthorized service center will void the warranty, and KTM will not cover any repair costs after that. So, it is always advisable to use authorized KTM dealers for bike maintenance or repairs.
Current warranty in India
Until now, KTM bikes sold in India come with a 2-year standard warranty. This is called the KTM Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty and is provided free of charge at the time of purchase. The coverage also comes into effect automatically as soon as you buy the bike.
Like the new 4-year warranty, the current 2-year warranty also applies to the bike and not to the owner, so even if the bike is sold later, the new owner can still receive the remaining warranty benefits.
Why this change
Spela Kovacic, Vice President of Global Customer Service at KTM, said that the company is strengthening its warranty coverage further because of its confidence in the quality of its products.
He added that if riders follow the prescribed service plan, the company will provide full support in case of any issue.
Until now, only a few selected models had a 4-year warranty, but this benefit has now been extended to all street-legal KTM bikes.
New Roadside Assistance in Europe
KTM has also launched a service called Service Activated Roadside Assistance (SARA) in select markets in Europe.
As part of this service, you will receive roadside assistance coverage for up to 12 months, or until the next scheduled service, every time you get your bike serviced at an authorized KTM dealer.
The service provides assistance if the bike breaks down on the road, although it is not yet clear whether this service will also be introduced in the Indian market.
KTM bikes available in India
KTM sells a variety of motorcycles in the Indian market, with several categories such as naked bikes, supersport bikes, and adventure bikes.
The KTM lineup here ranges from the entry-level Duke 160 to the flagship 1390 Super Duke R.
Some of the popular KTM bikes sold in India include:
- Duke 200
- RC 390
- 250 Adventure
Benefits for buyers
The new 4-year warranty brings longer protection for KTM bike buyers, as it provides extended coverage for the bike’s engine.
Whether you buy a smaller Duke model or a larger adventure bike, the same 4-year warranty will apply to all street-legal models.
Also, since the warranty is applied to the bike, even if you sell it later, the new owner will still get the remaining warranty coverage, which further increases the value of KTM bikes in the market.
