New Tata Sierra Gets 1 Lakh Bookings in India, Tata Boosts Production

New Tata Sierra gets over 1 lakh bookings in India and Tata increases production as demand grows

India Welcomes Back an Icon with Huge Demand

The new Tata Sierra has created a lot of excitement among car buyers in India. When bookings opened late last year, many people quickly showed interest in the SUV. Because of this, bookings have now crossed one lakh (100,000) across the country.

Due to this huge demand, Tata Motors is increasing production so that cars can be delivered faster and the waiting list can be reduced.

Key Details of the New Tata Sierra

The new Tata Sierra was launched in November 2025. In Tata’s SUV lineup, it is placed above the Tata Curvv. The price of the Sierra starts from Rs. 11.49 lakh and goes up to Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The SUV comes in many variants, so buyers can choose different features and engine options based on their wish.

Production and Deliveries Speed Up

Deliveries of the Sierra began around mid-January 2026, and in just a short time, Tata Motors had already sent more than 14,000 units to dealerships and customers by February. The company is now steadily increasing production at its factories, working closely with suppliers to make sure all the necessary parts are available. Despite these efforts, due to high number of orders customers will still need to wait a few months for their new car.

  • Waiting Time: You might have to wait about three to four months for your car.

  • Longer Waits: Cars with automatic gears and diesel engines usually take longer to get.

  • Popular Color: The color Munnar Mist (which is a greenish-grey) is the most popular choice for buyers. Other colors you can pick are Coorg Clouds (White), Pristine White, Pure Grey, Bengal Rouge (Red), and Andaman Adventure.

Engine Options

The Tata Sierra offers three different engine choices to suit various driving preferences:

  • 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine: This entry-level engine produces 106 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque.

  • 1.5-litre Turbocharged Petrol Engine: For more power, this engine delivers 160 PS and 255 Nm of torque.

  • 1.5-litre Diesel Engine: This option provides 120 PS of power and up to 280 Nm of torque.

Buyers can also choose from three transmission types: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit.

Modern Features with a Classic Look

Built on Tata’s new ARGOS architecture, the Sierra cleverly mixes its classic, retro-inspired design with many modern features. The inside of the car is very advanced, featuring a three-screen dashboard layout and a high-quality JBL sound system that includes a soundbar on the dashboard. Other premium features include:

  • Wireless charging for your devices.

  • A panoramic sunroof for an open-air feel.

  • A powered tailgate for easy access to the boot.

  • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) for enhanced safety.

  • A 360-degree camera system for better parking.
