First Official Glimpse Of Nissan Tekton SUV Before July 9 Launch , What We Know So Far
The Japanese auto manufacturer is set to roll out its all-new mid-size Tekton SUV in India on July 9, 2026. In one of the recent teasers via social media, the automaker has shown its upcoming mid-size SUV in the presence of the existing flagship Nissan Patrol, giving us a closer look at the design inspiration behind the upcoming SUV.
Inspiration from the Flagship Patrol
From the latest teaser, it is clear that the Nissan Tekton SUV draws several design cues from the larger Nissan Patrol. The SUV has an off-road oriented rugged and muscular design with a strong road presence. At the front, the SUV gets a high bonnet line, prominent grille and muscular design elements.
One of the major highlights of the SUV includes the lighting setup. The Tekton gets LED daytime running lights with an inverted L-shaped design. Moreover, the SUV has been fitted with an illuminated Nissan logo in the centre of the grille.
Premium Cabin with Advanced Features
Nissan has not unveiled the complete interior of the SUV, the Tekton is expected to offer a premium cabin experience. It may share a dashboard layout similar to the Renault Duster but with upgraded materials and a premium look.
A few features which are expected to make their way into the cabin include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Moreover, it is expected to come equipped with features like dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats and powered driver's seat.
Other expected features include panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, 48-colour ambient lighting and a six-speaker Arkamys sound system.
The Tekton is also expected to come with several safety features. Safety features could be standard across all models, while some advanced features like a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS could be found in higher variants.

The 1.0 litre turbo-petrol engine is focused more on fuel efficiency, while the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol is expected to offer better performance. Buyers will be able to choose between a manual and a 6-speed wet dual clutch transmission with the 1.3 litre engine.
The 1.8 litre strong-hybrid model uses a petrol engine along with two electric motors and 1.4 kWh battery. This setup is expected to deliver better fuel efficiency, especially in city driving conditions.
Price and Competitors
The Nissan Tekton is expected to have a price range of Rs 10.5 lakh - Rs 19 lakh. Once launched, the SUV will compete with rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Tata Sierra.
