June 2026 Electric Two-Wheeler Sales: TVS Tops, Vida Surges, Ola Declines

TVS led electric two-wheeler sales in June 2026 as Vida doubled sales, while Ola Electric continued to lose share

June 2026 turned out to be another strong month for electric two-wheelers in India. A total of 181,140 registrations were recorded up to June 29, against 111,441 units during the same period last year. That is a 62.5 percent year-on-year jump, showing the continued growth of electric two-wheelers across the country.

TVS And Bajaj Together Own Nearly Half The Market

TVS Motor Company led the electric two-wheeler segment in June 2026 with 44,467 units, retaining its position as the market leader. Bajaj Auto was right behind with 40,576 units, continuing to close the gap on the segment leader. The two brands combined to account for nearly 47 percent of the total market in June, showing just how dominant they have become in this space. Ather held third place with 29,422 registrations, maintaining its position among the top three.

Vida's Numbers Tell The Biggest Story This Month

If one brand stood out in June 2026, it was Vida. The electric two-wheeler arm of Hero MotoCorp sold 20,198 units during the month, placing it fourth in the overall rankings. A year ago, in June 2025, Vida posted just 7,945 units. That kind of year-on-year growth is hard to ignore.

Its market share rose from 7.1 percent in June 2025 to 11.2 percent in June 2026. The strong growth helped Vida increase its presence in the market and move further up the rankings.

Ola Keeps Slipping Year On Year

Ola Electric ended June 2026 in fifth place with 15,096 registrations. That number looks weaker when compared with its June 2025 performance of 20,697 units. Back then, Ola commanded an 18.6 percent market share. That figure now stands at 8.3 percent.

Ola's market share has remained under pressure over the past few months. Its share fell as low as 6 percent in January 2026 before recovering slightly to 8.8 percent in May and then settling at 8.3 percent in June. Ola still has the volume and brand recognition to stay inside the top five, but the gap from where it stood a year ago remains considerable.

Ampere Crosses 10,000 Units, Smaller Brands Hold On

Greaves Electric's Ampere brand also posted strong numbers, crossing the 10,000-unit mark to finish sixth with 10,103 units. River Mobility took seventh position with 4,062 registrations, while BGauss came in eighth with 3,700 units. The remaining 13,516 units were spread across other smaller manufacturers in the segment.

How The Segment Shapes Up Going Forward

TVS, Bajaj and Ather have remained consistent at the front of the market for several months. June 2026 also highlights Vida's strong growth, while Ola is still trying to regain the market share it held a year ago.

Further down the table, Ampere, River Mobility and BGauss continue to post healthy numbers, showing that the segment is no longer just a two- or three-brand race. The second half of the year, especially the festive season, will reveal whether these brands can maintain their current momentum.

Looking Beyond The Sales Numbers

The 62.5 percent year-on-year growth in June registrations is impressive, but it also comes at an important time for the market. The PM E-Drive subsidy for electric two-wheelers, which was originally due to end on March 31, 2026, was extended until July 31, 2026, although at reduced incentive levels. That makes June one of the last full months for buyers to benefit from the current subsidy. Similar schemes in the past, including the end of FAME II incentives, have often seen registrations rise as buyers rush to complete their purchases before deadlines. Whether June's 181,140 registrations reflect sustained demand or some demand being brought forward will become clearer once the July and August figures are available.

Vida's strong performance also deserves a closer look. The brand's sales have been helped by the VX2, which was launched in July 2025 with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option that reduced the entry price to around Rs 44,990 after PM E-Drive benefits. Vida took nearly three years to reach its first one lakh cumulative sales, while the next one lakh units came in just eight months. Although overall EV demand has grown during this period, the VX2 appears to have played a major role in accelerating the brand's sales.

Another interesting point is Bajaj's position in the market. Its entire June tally of 40,576 units comes from a single electric scooter, the Chetak, while most other major brands have multiple models contributing to their sales. That has worked well for Bajaj so far, but it also means the brand is more exposed if supply constraints, pricing changes or stronger competition affect its best-selling model.
