Bajaj Pulsar N125 Phased Out In India, 2027 Successor Under Development

Bajaj Ends Pulsar N125 India Run, Next-Gen Model Could Arrive in 2027

Bajaj Auto has stopped supplying the Pulsar N125 to dealers across India, indicating that the motorcycle has been phased out from the Indian market. The motorcycle still appears on Bajaj's official website, but dealer dispatches within the country have come to a complete halt. However, production continues for export markets, with the Pulsar N125 still being manufactured for countries including Nepal, Peru, Colombia, and Morocco.

A Short Innings in India

The Pulsar N125 was launched in India in October 2024, making it one of the shorter-lived models in the Pulsar lineup. Dealer supplies have now stopped after the motorcycle recorded weak sales in the Indian market, according to reports.

The bike stood apart from the rest of the Pulsar family in several ways. It was built on a completely new platform that was not shared with any other motorcycle in the Pulsar range. It also introduced a new engine and came in at just 125 kg, making it one of the lightest Pulsars ever produced.

Why It Didn't Connect With Indian Buyers

The Pulsar N125 struggled to gain strong sales in India. Its slimmer styling was a departure from the traditional muscular Pulsar design, which may have appealed to fewer buyers in India.

Rivals like the Hero Xtreme 125R and Honda CB125 Hornet performed better in the market. They also offer a larger road presence and sportier styling, which may have appealed to more buyers.

The feature list was also not as comprehensive as that of some rivals. At a time when 125cc performance bikes are increasingly expected to come with a TFT instrument cluster and ABS, the Pulsar N125 skipped both. Some competing models from Hero and Honda offer these features, giving buyers more options in the segment.

What a 2027 Update Could Look Like

Although the current model has been phased out from the Indian market, a next-generation Pulsar N125 appears to be in development. A heavily camouflaged test mule has been spotted on public roads, indicating that Bajaj could be testing an updated version of the motorcycle.

Spy shots show a motorcycle with a larger stance, sharper styling, and a more premium appearance than the outgoing model. The front section appears to feature a larger headlamp cowl and redesigned body panels.

Other visible updates include a split-seat arrangement, revised rear grab rails, a fully enclosed chain cover, and an upright riding position. The suspension setup consists of telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, while alloy wheels are fitted at both ends. Braking is expected to be handled by a front disc and rear drum unit as standard.

Although dealer supplies have ended in India, the Pulsar N125 continues to be produced for export markets, showing that Bajaj is continuing the model for international customers.

Bajaj has not officially confirmed the launch timeline. However, if current reports are accurate, the updated Pulsar N125 could make its India debut sometime between January and March 2027.

Bajaj's 125cc Range Remained Strong Despite the N125's Weak Sales

While the Pulsar N125 struggled to gain strong sales in India, Bajaj's overall position in the 125cc motorcycle segment remained strong. According to industry sales data, the combined Pulsar 125 range, including the Pulsar 125, Pulsar NS125, and Pulsar N125, recorded 71,350 units in April 2026. During the same month, the TVS Raider registered 29,064 units.

The sales figures show that Bajaj's 125cc lineup continues to perform well in the market. The standard Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125 account for a significant share of these sales, while the N125 contributed a smaller portion.

Among the N125's direct rivals, the Hero Xtreme 125R recorded 19,757 units in April 2026, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 65.70 percent. The Honda CB125 Hornet has also established itself in the premium sporty 125cc segment.

If the next-generation Pulsar N125 reaches the market, Bajaj could focus on updating its design, feature list, and safety equipment to make the motorcycle more competitive
