Tata Altroz Scores 5-Star Safety Rating At Bharat NCAP Crash Test
Tata Altroz Sets New Safety Benchmark With 5 Stars in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests
Tata Motors' Altroz is back in the spotlight. This time, the reason is its impressive performance in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The Altroz recently got a facelift, and now it is even stronger in terms of safety. It scored 29.65 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection and 44.90 out of 49 points in child protection. This means that it is one of the safest hatchbacks in the Indian market.
In the adult protection tests, the Altroz scored 15.55 out of 16 points in the front crash and 14.11 out of 16 points in the side impact test. Moreover, it also successfully cleared the side pole impact test. This shows that its body is strong and that the safety systems are working well.
The Altroz also scored almost perfect marks in the child safety category. When tested using ISOFIX seats for children aged 18 months and 3 years, it scored 23.9 out of 24 in the dynamic test, 12 out of 12 in the CRS installation, and 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment. The rear-facing seats performed well in front and side crashes.
When it comes to safety features, the Altroz has a total of six airbags for the driver and passenger (front, side, curtain). There are seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters on the driver's side. Electronic stability control, pedestrian protection technology, and seatbelt reminders come as standard on all variants.
There is also a feature that allows the front airbag to be manually turned off for child seats. According to Bharat NCAP, the safety ratings of the Altroz are applicable to all versions — petrol, diesel, and CNG. The variants tested include the Pure CNG MT, CRTV S CNG MT, and Accomplished S DMT, which weigh around 1,474 kg.
With Tata Motors prioritizing safety across all its models, the Altroz is now at a level that can compete with even the biggest cars. The inclusion of electronic safety features like multiple airbags as standard further strengthens Tata’s safety image.
