New Hyundai Venue Gets 65 Safety Features For Top Protection

You will find over 65 safety features in the New Hyundai Venue, and 33 of them are available on every variant.

Hyundai revealed complete specifications for the second-generation Venue ahead of its November 4 launch, and the updates go significantly beyond typical segment expectations. The subcompact SUV now packs technology previously reserved for vehicles costing twice as much, including NVIDIA-powered infotainment and comprehensive Level 2 ADAS. Bookings opened October 24 at Rs 25,000, with deliveries starting post-launch.

NVIDIA

The standout feature is Hyundai's new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system powered by NVIDIA processors. This isn't just marketing speak - NVIDIA's graphics processing delivers noticeably sharper visuals, faster menu responses, and smoother transitions compared to standard automotive processors. Think of it as the difference between a budget smartphone and a flagship device. The system handles complex graphics rendering that makes navigation maps look cleaner and allows for deeper customization of the interface.

Dual 12.3-inch displays dominate the dashboard - one for infotainment, the other for the digital instrument cluster. Both screens sit within a single curved glass panel, creating visual continuity that makes the cabin feel significantly more premium than the outgoing model's 8-inch screen and semi-digital cluster. This setup matches what the Mahindra XUV 3XO offers but exceeds the Tata Nexon's 10.25-inch displays, giving Hyundai a tangible advantage in showroom comparisons where screen size matters disproportionately to actual functionality.

Over-the-Air Updates Finally Arrive

The Venue supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for 20 electronic control units, meaning Hyundai can push software improvements directly to the vehicle without requiring service center visits. This addresses a major pain point - current owners needing to schedule appointments just to get software updates that take 30-45 minutes. OTA capability also means Hyundai can improve powertrain calibration, refine transmission shift patterns, and fix software bugs remotely. Tesla proved this concept works; mainstream brands are finally catching up.

The system includes 70 connected car features and supports over 400 voice commands in five languages including Hindi and English. Voice control extends to the sunroof, which you can open or close without taking hands off the wheel. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, eliminating the cable clutter that annoys users daily.

Premium Audio and Comfort

Hyundai added an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, which transforms the audio experience compared to standard six-speaker setups in rivals. Bose tunes its systems specifically for each vehicle's cabin acoustics, delivering better bass response and clearer midrange than generic speakers. Built-in JioSaavn integration means you can stream music without draining phone data or dealing with Bluetooth connectivity issues.

Comfort features include ventilated front seats (crucial for Indian summers), wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, and electric four-way driver seat adjustment. The rear seat gets two-step reclining - something the Nexon doesn't offer - making long highway trips more comfortable for passengers.

Level 2 ADAS

Hyundai's SmartSense ADAS Level 2 package includes 16 advanced driver assistance features, putting the Venue ahead of both the Nexon and Maruti Brezza, which don't offer ADAS yet. The Mahindra XUV 3XO already has Level 2 ADAS, so Hyundai matches rather than leads here, but it's still significant for the segment.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist can automatically brake to prevent hitting vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists. Lane Keeping Assist actively steers the car back into its lane if you drift unintentionally. Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go maintains set speeds and automatically adjusts for traffic, even bringing the vehicle to a complete stop and resuming when traffic moves. These features genuinely reduce driver fatigue on highways and improve safety in city traffic.

Structural Safety Improvements

Hyundai strengthened the monocoque chassis using 71 percent high-strength steel and hot-stamped components in critical areas. This improves crash protection significantly compared to the outgoing model. The company standardized 33 safety features across all variants, including six airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist. This means even base models get comprehensive safety equipment rather than forcing buyers into top variants to access basic protection.

The Venue packs over 65 total safety features, setting a new segment benchmark. Hyundai clearly learned from criticism about previous models compromising safety on lower variants. Standardizing six airbags across the range addresses buyer expectations and upcoming regulatory requirements.

Powertrain

Engine options remain unchanged - 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol (83 hp), 1.0-liter turbo-petrol (120 hp), and 1.5-liter diesel (116 hp). Transmissions include five-speed manual, six-speed manual, seven-speed DCT, and six-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel-automatic combination addresses a significant gap where only the Kia Sonet previously offered this pairing.
