Upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S Teaser Unveils Exciting New Styling Details
Mahindra XEV 9S breaks cover with fresh lighting, triple screens, and over 500-km range; India launch on November 27.
Mahindra & Mahindra has released a new teaser for its upcoming electric SUV-coupe, the XEV 9S. This teaser confirms some design details first seen on the XUV.e8 concept shown three years ago. The XEV 9S will be the brand’s first all-electric three-row vehicle when it launches in India.
Exterior Design and Lighting
The new electric SUV will feature a stacked headlamp layout this is a change from the familiar lighting style of the current ICE XUV 700. This difference helps the electric model stand out. The teaser also shows a boomerang-shaped LED DRL a new Twin Peaks logo and a shark fin antenna at the back. A part of the tail lamps is also visible in the latest teaser. The rear section, including the tailgate and lighting pattern, looks very similar to the XUV 700 this gives the XEV 9S a familiar and strong stance.
Interior and Platform Details
Mahindra is slowly revealing details about the cabin but only for the first two rows. The dashboard is dominated by a wide triple screen panel this matches the high-tech, digital approach seen in other born electric models from the brand like the XEV 9e and BE 6.
The company is not yet showing the third row this is where the challenge of fitting a functional third row without losing space lies. The INGLO platform which is modular in nature underpins the XEV 9S.
Launch and Performance Expectations
The Mahindra XEV 9S will go on sale on November 27 this makes it Mahindra’s third born-electric SUV after the XEV 9e and BE 6. Since all three models share the same acti.ev architecture, the XEV 9S is expected to have similar battery and motor outputs.
Any differences in performance will likely come from the added weight of the three-row setup this could slightly affect the driving range and power figures. Even with this, the XEV 9S is expected to deliver over 500 km driving range on a single charge in real-world conditions this is a very good range for the Indian market.
The equipment list will include a panoramic sunroof powered and ventilated seats with massage and memory functions. Safety is a top priority as the XEV 9e and BE 6 both have five-star safety ratings. The XEV 9S will also feature Level 2 ADAS functionalities this includes adaptive cruise control autonomous emergency braking lane keep assist lane departure warning and blind spot detection.
