Mahindra New Electric SUV BE.07 Confirmed For India Launch in 2027
Mahindra New Electric SUV Confirmed for 2027: A New Rival for Harrier EV
After quickly launching four new electric SUVs in less than a year, Mahindra is now taking a break from releasing new zero-emission vehicles. The company plans to launch its next electric model in 2027, which will be a C-SUV designed to compete directly with the Tata Harrier.ev.
Mahindra's Future EV Plans
During Mahindra’s Q3 FY2026 earnings call on February 11, Rajesh Jejurikar, the Executive Director and CEO of the company’s auto and farm business, discussed their plans for electric vehicles. He announced that the production version of the Mahindra BE.07 concept, first shown in August 2022, will make its debut in 2027.
Jejurikar also mentioned that Mahindra believes this next Born Electric model
“will be a very big volume driver.” The company expects to have a portfolio of six electric models next year. These models will include the XUV 3XO EV, XUV 400, BE 6, the production version of the BE.07 concept, XEV 9S, and the XEV 9e. Jejurikar also stated that Mahindra will likely not use the BE.07 name for the final vehicle, suggesting that BE 7 or BE 7e would be more fitting choices.
Powertrain Options and Driving Range
Mahindra may launch the production version of the BE.07 concept with two single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variants.
- The base variant could use a motor that produces 170 kW (228 hp) and 380 Nm of torque, powered by a 59 kWh LFP battery pack. This variant may offer a driving range of around 530 kilometers.
- The top variant might combine a more powerful motor that develops 210 kW (282 hp) and 380 Nm of torque with a 79 kWh LFP battery pack. This version could deliver a range of around 650 kilometers.
Premium Features and Safety
The Mahindra BE.07 will likely come fully equipped with premium features. These include a semi-adaptive suspension, a frunk (front trunk), a gesture-controlled power tailgate, and electrically deployable flush door handles. Inside, it will feature a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen and a panoramic sunroof with integrated ambient lighting. For safety, the car should include a range of Level 2+ advanced driver assistance systems, seven airbags, and a 360º camera system among its main safety equipment.
Dimensions and Design of the BE.07 Production Version
The Mahindra BE.07 concept measures 4,565 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. The production version will likely have similar dimensions, placing it comfortably between the Mahindra BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9S. Both the exterior and interior design should closely resemble the concept model.
