BMW Brings High-Performance M 1000 R Supersport Roadster To India At Rs 33.50 Lakh
BMW Motorrad has launched the M 1000 R supersport roadster in India. The motorcycle is being brought to the country as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU). Bookings have opened at authorised BMW Motorrad dealerships across India, and customer deliveries are expected to start from May 2026.
Pricing And Color Options
The BMW M 1000 R is priced at Rs 33.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Customers can choose from two colour options: Light White non-metallic with M Motorsport graphics and White Aluminium metallic matt.
Buyers who select the M Competition Package will also get the Blackstorm metallic with M Motorsport graphics paint scheme. This package also adds several performance-focused components.
Engine Specifications
The BMW M 1000 R uses a 999 cc water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine based on the motor used in the BMW S 1000 RR.
This engine produces 210 hp of power at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,100 rpm. Performance is very strong, with the roadster able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. The motorcycle can reach a top speed of 280 kmph.
Design And Styling
The design of the M 1000 R is inspired by BMW’s RR superbike lineup. The front section features a dual-flow LED headlight design that is similar to the one used on RR models.
An M badge placed inside the air intake highlights the motorcycle’s performance identity. The bike also uses aerodynamic M Winglets that help improve stability when riding at high speeds. These winglets create extra downforce and add about 11 kg of pressure on the front wheel at 220 kmph, which helps keep the bike stable.
Engine Technology
The engine also features BMW’s ShiftCam technology, which adjusts valve timing to improve engine performance. This system helps the motorcycle deliver strong torque at lower speeds while still producing high power at higher revs.
Other engine components include titanium valves, updated cam followers and optimised camshafts. BMW has also redesigned the intake system to improve airflow when the engine runs at higher speeds.
Riding Modes And Control Systems
The BMW M 1000 R offers five riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and Race Pro. These modes allow riders to adjust the motorcycle’s performance depending on road conditions or riding style.
A 6-axis sensor unit works with the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) system to monitor the bike’s movement and improve stability. Other electronic features include Launch Control, wheelie control, ABS Pro, and a pit-lane limiter.
These systems highlight the track-focused nature of the BMW M 1000 R, while still making it suitable for everyday road use.
Instrument Display And Features
The motorcycle comes with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument screen. The display shows a special M startup animation and updated rev counter graphics.
Other features include adaptive LED lighting, electronic cruise control, heated grips, and a rear USB charging port. The bike is also compatible with the M GPS Datalogger and Laptrigger system, which can be used for recording riding data and lap times on a track.
