Exicom Opens Rs 216 Crore EV Charging Equipment Manufacturing Facility In Hyderabad

Exicom Starts EV Charging And Battery Manufacturing Plant In Hyderabad

Exicom Tele-Systems Limited has opened a new manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The company developed this plant to strengthen its presence in the power electronics manufacturing sector. The new facility will support the rising demand for EV charging infrastructure and advanced energy solutions across multiple industries.

Investment And Size

Exicom invested around Rs 216 crore to build this manufacturing complex. The facility is located on 18.4 acres of land and has a built-up area of nearly 2.8 lakh square feet.

In the first phase, the plant will increase Exicom’s production capacity by around 2.5 times. The project is also expected to generate more than 750 employment opportunities in the region.

Manufacturing Products

The Hyderabad facility will manufacture EV charging equipment, lithium-ion battery systems, and critical power solutions.

These products will support several industries including electric mobility, telecommunications networks, data centres, and other infrastructure sectors that require reliable power solutions.

EV Charger Testing Centre

The facility also includes a dedicated EV charger interoperability testing centre. This centre will ensure that charging infrastructure works smoothly with electric vehicles from different manufacturers.

It will test compatibility across multiple charging networks to improve reliability. The plant will also manufacture TRI-FLEX liquid-cooled power modules, a technology developed by Tritium.

Green And Sustainable Features

The facility has been designed with several sustainability measures. Nearly 40 percent of the campus area is dedicated to green spaces.

A 1 MW rooftop solar power system has been installed to generate electricity for the plant, helping reduce overall power consumption. The facility also includes rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store water, while a sewage treatment plant manages wastewater efficiently.

The infrastructure has been developed in line with green building standards set by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

Advanced Manufacturing Systems

The Hyderabad plant uses advanced automation technologies to ensure precise manufacturing. Robotic production lines manage key production processes, while digital monitoring systems track operations using Industry 4.0 technologies.

The facility also features an ISO Class 8 cleanroom designed for sensitive manufacturing tasks. In addition, specialised testing infrastructure is used to verify product durability and ensure performance under demanding real-world conditions.

Manufacturing Capabilities

The plant will produce EV charging equipment for electric vehicles, lithium-ion battery systems for energy storage, and critical power solutions for industries that require uninterrupted power supply. The facility will also manufacture TRI-FLEX liquid-cooled power modules developed by Tritium.

Testing And Quality

The EV charger interoperability testing centre will verify that charging systems work smoothly with electric vehicles from different manufacturers.

The centre will also evaluate compatibility across various charging networks. Specialised testing facilities will assess product durability and ensure reliable performance in real-world conditions.

The plant complies with several international certifications including IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

Environmental Commitment

Environmental sustainability is an important part of the facility’s design. About 40 percent of the campus area is covered with greenery.

The 1 MW rooftop solar installation helps generate clean energy for the plant. Rainwater harvesting systems collect and store water, while a sewage treatment plant processes wastewater efficiently.

The infrastructure has been designed according to Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) green building standards.
