Hyundai India Sales Report Feb 2026: Creta Drives Record Sales

Hyundai India Records Strong Sales Growth with Highest Ever February Performance in 2026

Hyundai had a good month in February 2026 as the company shared its latest sales numbers for India and overseas markets. The brand sold 66,134 vehicles during the month which includes cars bought by Indian customers along with vehicles exported to other countries. When compared with February last year this shows a growth of about 12.6 percent, making it Hyundai’s best February sales result since the company started operations in India. The numbers show that demand for Hyundai cars continues to stay steady even as competition in the Indian market becomes stronger every year.

Sales Growth Came from Both India and Exports

Most of Hyundai’s sales came from the Indian market. The company sold 52,407 vehicles inside the country during February 2026. This is clearly higher than the same month last year where sales stood at 46,000 plus units. SUVs and compact cars continued to bring strong showroom traffic across cities as well as smaller towns.

Exports also played an important role in overall growth. Hyundai shipped 13,727 cars from India to international markets. This marks nearly 25 percent growth compared to last year. India remains one of Hyundai’s key production bases where vehicles are manufactured not only for local buyers but also for global customers.

Hyundai Motor India CEO Tarun Garg said that the company started 2026 with strong momentum in January and the performance continued into February. He also confirmed that both domestic sales and total monthly sales reached a new February record for Hyundai India.

Creta Continues to Lead Hyundai Sales

Hyundai has remained among the top passenger vehicle brands in India for several years. During 2025 the company finished as the country’s third largest carmaker by total sales volume.

Monthly rankings often change because competition is very close between Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra. Even with this competition Hyundai continues to maintain strong volumes mainly because of its SUV lineup.

The Hyundai Creta remains the company’s biggest seller. The SUV regularly crosses 15,000 monthly sales which shows how popular it remains among family buyers looking for comfort, features and reliability.

New Cars and Future Plans in India

Hyundai has been updating its lineup step by step instead of making sudden changes. The updated Venue arrived last year while the company recently introduced a more affordable i20 Era variant priced at ₹5.99 lakh ex showroom. Even this entry model includes safety features like six airbags along with a digital instrument display and modern charging ports.

Looking ahead Hyundai plans to expand strongly in the electric vehicle space. A small electric SUV based on the global Inster platform is expected to arrive soon which will compete with Tata Punch EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

The company is also preparing a Bayon based crossover for India which will take on models like the Maruti Fronx. Along with this Hyundai plans updates for popular cars such as the Ioniq 5, Exter and Verna during 2026.

Hyundai’s February performance shows that the company is growing through a balanced approach. SUVs continue to drive strong domestic demand while exports help maintain production stability.

Indian buyers today are moving towards practical SUVs and feature rich cars where Hyundai already has strong options. At the same time the brand is preparing new electric vehicles which shows long term planning rather than short term growth. If current demand continues Hyundai is likely to remain one of the strongest players in India’s passenger vehicle market through 2026.
