Hyundai Verna and Exter Facelifts Seen Testing in India With Design and Feature Updates

Hyundai is preparing to launch several new cars in India this year. Recently, spotted the updated versions of the Verna sedan and the Exter micro-SUV testing together on public roads. These spy shots give us a good idea of the changes Hyundai is making to these popular models.

The new Hyundai Verna will likely be the first to arrive, with a launch expected around April. Since the current model only launched in early 2023, this update focuses on small visual changes rather than a complete redesign. This helps Hyundai keep the car looking fresh without increasing the price.

Design Changes for the Verna

The updated Verna will feature a new front bumper and grille design inspired by the larger Hyundai Sonata. This change should give the sedan a sportier and more aggressive look. Hyundai is also expected to tweak the split headlamps and improve the quality of the LED lights used in the daytime running lights (DRLs).

Inside, the Verna will get a more modern dashboard. It will feature a new curved panel that houses two large 12.3-inch screens—one for the driver's information and one for the infotainment system. Importantly, the new system will finally support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No changes are expected for the engines or gearboxes.

Updates for the Hyundai Exter

The Hyundai Exter is also getting its first major update since its launch in mid-2023. We expect the facelifted Exter to arrive in the third quarter of 2026. The changes include redesigned bumpers, updated headlamps, and new 15-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Exter will gain some premium features. These include ventilated front seats, a new infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, and a rear USB Type-C charging port. Hyundai is also improving safety by adding a 360-degree camera system and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Like the Verna, the Exter will keep its current engine options.
