Mahindra SUV Sales Stay Strong in February 2026 as Demand Continues Across India

Mahindra continued to see strong demand for its SUVs in February 2026 where the company sold 60,685 units during the month. When all vehicle categories are counted together, Mahindra sold 97,177 vehicles in February. This includes passenger SUVs, commercial vehicles and three wheelers. Overall sales grew by around 18% compared to last year which points towards stable demand. SUVs once again formed the largest share of sales, domestic SUV numbers reached 60,018 units whereas last year the figure stood at 50,420 units. Exports also moved upward where Mahindra shipped 3,384 vehicles to international markets which is about 11% higher than the previous year.

Strong Performance Across the Financial Year

Looking at the financial year from April 2025 to February 2026, Mahindra has already crossed six lakh SUV sales within India. Export growth during the same period improved by nearly 21% which indicates rising acceptance of Mahindra vehicles beyond the domestic market. The growth has come gradually where consistent demand continues month after month.

Mahindra’s Position in the Market

During February 2026, Mahindra ranked as the fourth largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in India. Maruti Suzuki remained in the top position while Hyundai and Tata Motors followed ahead of Mahindra for the month.

However, the company finished 2025 as the second largest car manufacturer in India which reflects how quickly its SUV business has expanded in recent years. Market share also improved from 12.4 percent in 2024 to 13.7 percent in 2025.

SUVs Continue to Drive Buyer Interest

Popular models such as the Scorpio-N, XUV700, Thar and Bolero continue attracting buyers who want strong road presence along with practical usability. These vehicles suit mixed driving conditions where highways, city traffic and rural roads all form part of daily travel. Demand from semi urban and rural areas remains especially important since many buyers prefer durable vehicles that handle rough roads comfortably.

Upcoming Models

Mahindra is preparing several updates to maintain momentum through 2026. A refreshed Scorpio-N facelift is expected around April while updates for the Thar may arrive later in the year. The company is also working on a Scorpio Pik-Up lifestyle vehicle along with a new SUV based on the Vision S concept.

On the electric side, Mahindra plans to expand its future lineup with the BE.07 electric SUV which may be showcased before the end of 2026 as part of its long term EV plans.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, said steady SUV demand across markets continues to support the company’s growth and reflects customer confidence in the brand.

For Buyers

Consistent sales growth along with upcoming product updates shows that Mahindra is expanding step by step instead of relying on short term success. For buyers, this means more choices are likely to arrive across petrol, diesel and electric SUV segments in the coming years.
