Tata Nexon Stays at the Top

The Tata Nexon sold 19,430 units in February 2026, holding onto its position as the top-selling car overall. It also remained the highest-selling SUV in the industry. Close behind in the SUV category was the Tata Punch, which recorded sales of 18,748 units. The Nexon and Punch have consistently been the two best-selling SUVs in India. Maruti Suzuki Models Show Strong Performance

Between the two Tata SUVs in the overall sales list, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire sold 19,326 units. This compact sedan remains popular with both taxi operators and private buyers. The Hyundai Creta continued its steady sales with 17,938 units, showing its strong hold in the midsize SUV segment. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza followed in fifth place with 17,863 units sold in India, while the Ertiga MPV delivered 17,807 units.

The tall Wagon R sold 14,885 units, just slightly more than the Swift compact model, which sold 14,833 units, placing it seventh overall. The Mahindra Scorpio recorded 14,665 units, showing that SUVs with a strong road presence, especially the utilitarian Scorpio Classic, continue to be in demand.

Completing the Top 10 List

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno finished the top 10 list with 14,632 units. This premium hatchback remains popular, doing better than rivals like the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz. These figures highlight the continued preference for well-established models that offer a good mix of features, reliability, and value.
