Top 10 Sedans February 2026: Dzire Dominates, Slavia Sees Big Growth

India sedan sales Feb 2026: Dzire tops chart, Aura and Amaze grow, while Verna and City decline sharply.

Sedan sales in India reached 35,919 units in February 2026, showing a strong 22.4 % YoY growth compared to 29,347 units in the same month last year. Despite SUVs continuing to dominate headlines, the sedan segment delivered solid performance. However, this growth was not evenly distributed, as some models led the segment while others recorded sharp declines.

Top Performers: Dzire, Aura, and Amaze

Maruti Suzuki Dzire remained the top seller, with 19,326 units sold. This represents a 31.5% jump in sales. The Dzire alone captured a massive 53.8% of the segment share, meaning more than half of all sedans sold were Dzire models. Its success continues to be driven by both fleet demand and private buyers and also it is recently passed the thirty lakh unit sales milestone.

Hyundai Aura secured the second position with 6,733 units, showing a healthy 40.4% growth. The Honda Amaze came in third, selling 3,513 units and growing by 7.7 percent, maintaining its strong presence in the compact sedan category.

Mid-Segment Performance: Virtus and Slavia

In the mid-segment, the Volkswagen Virtus sold 1,804 units, experiencing a slight 1.8 percent decrease. In contrast, the Skoda Slavia stood out with 1,674 units and an impressive 85.8 percent surge in sales, marking the highest growth among all listed sedans. The Slavia’s significant jump suggests renewed interest, even if its overall sales volume remains modest.

Toyota Camry

At the lower end of the market, the Toyota Camry sold 203 units, a slight 2.9% dip. While its sales volume remains small, it continues to serve a specific audience.

Models Facing Declines

The Tata Tigor recorded 1,447 units, a 6.6% drop in sales. The Hyundai Verna also saw a sharp decline, falling to 694 units with a 42.5 percent decrease. However, a recent mid-cycle update for the Verna could help improve its sales. The Honda City followed a similar trend, selling 525 units, a 40.9 percent decrease year-on-year

Outlook for the Sedan Segment

The facelifted Virtus and Slavia, along with the return of the performance-focused Octavia RS, are expected to drive activity in the sedan segment for the rest of the year.
