Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition launched at Rs 3.99 lakh with new colours and touring-focused updates

Introduction 

Aprilia India has rolled out the new Tuono 457 Special Edition at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Introduced on World Motorcycle Day, the motorcycle costs only Rs 2,000 more than the standard model. Inspired by the legendary 2006 Tuono 1000R, the Special Edition gets a few styling updates along with comfort improvements for riders who use the bike daily or enjoy long highway rides.

New Colours And Stye

Aprilia is offering the Tuono 457 Special Edition in two new colour options called Mamba Black and Puma Grey. These colours are inspired by the older Tuono 1000R and give the motorcycle a fresh look.

It also gets a new smoked flyscreen at the front,  apart from improving the design, it helps reduce wind blast during highway rides. This can make long journeys more comfortable, especially when riding at higher speeds.

More Comfort

The major focus of the Special Edition is rider comfort because aprilia has moved the handlebars slightly higher, giving the rider a more upright seating position. This helps reduce pressure on the wrists, shoulders and lower back during city rides as well as longer trips.

The rider seat has also been updated with a new high-resilience foam core for better support. At the same time, Aprilia has revised the suspension settings to make the motorcycle feel more comfortable on potholes and rough roads. Riders can still adjust preload settings at both the front and rear according to their preference.

Another useful addition is an adjustable brake lever. Riders can set the lever position according to their hand size, making braking easier and more comfortable during long rides.

Same Engine, Same Performance

The motorcycle continues to use the familiar 457cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that produces 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm of torque. The engine is known for its strong performance and smooth power delivery, and it remains one of the key highlights of the Tuono 457.

Features Remain Well Equipped

The Tuono 457 Special Edition continues to offer a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with features such as self-diagnostics and lap timing.

It also comes with fully LED lighting, adjustable brightness levels for the display and an immobiliser-equipped ignition system as standard.

Buyers can also choose optional accessories such as a quickshifter, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a USB charging socket.

Warranty And Availability

Aprilia is offering a 4-year or 48,000 km warranty with the Tuono 457 Special Edition. Speaking about the launch, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, said the new model has been designed to make everyday riding and long-distance journeys more comfortable while keeping the sporty character that riders expect from an Aprilia motorcycle. Interested buyers can now book the new Tuono 457 Special Edition at select Aprilia showrooms across India.

With only a small price increase over the standard model, the Tuono 457 Special Edition adds a few useful upgrades while keeping the same performance and features that have made the motorcycle popular among riders.
