Bajaj Dominar 400 Adventure Edition Launched In Colombia With 373cc Engine

Bajaj unveils the Dominar 400 Adventure Edition in Colombia with the original 373cc engine and touring upgrades.

Following the success of the Dominar 400 in India, Bajaj has introduced the Adventure Edition in Colombia as the Dominar 400 Tera. The motorcycle received factory-fitted accessories and visual changes, which make it more suitable for long-distance touring. The special edition model is marketed as the Dominar 400 Tera and competes with the standard Touring version in Colombia.

Two Variants And Two Colours To Choose From

There are two variants available in Colombia at the moment. The Tera is painted in Brown, while the Touring variant is available in Sparkling Black. The Tera is the Adventure Edition variant, which comes with exclusive decals on the fuel tank and bodywork around the rear subframe. Moreover, the "400" badge is fitted below the decals on the Tera but not on the Touring variant.

Adventure Edition Features

Apart from the visual updates, the Adventure Edition also gets a few practical upgrades. There are saddlebag mounts installed around the rear luggage rack, which will be useful for attaching saddlebags to the motorcycle for regular long-distance touring. Instead of the standard road tyres, there are block-pattern tyres installed on the Adventure Edition, which are better suited for travelling across loose surfaces and light off-road trails.

For comparison, the India-spec model is equipped with 110-section front and 150-section rear MRF REVZ street tyres.

373cc Engine That Is No Longer Available In India

One of the most interesting aspects of the Colombia-spec model is its engine. It is equipped with the original 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and six-speed gearbox. It is the same engine that was fitted to the India-spec model up until recently, when it was downsized to stay within a lower GST bracket.

Despite the bigger displacement, the Colombia-spec model produces 38.9 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. In comparison with the current India-spec variant, although it has a smaller 349cc engine, it makes more power with 40 bhp (while torque is slightly lower at 33.2 Nm). This shows that a bigger engine is not necessarily more powerful, because the tuning of the engine varies from market to market.

Reasons Why India Got A Smaller Engine

The official launch of the downsized motorcycle took place in India in April 2026 at the price of Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is Rs 37,000 cheaper than the 400cc version used to cost. The smaller engine allowed Bajaj to move the motorcycle into a lower GST slab, helping bring down its price.

In India, motorcycles with engines above 350cc pay 40 percent GST, while those with smaller engines pay 18 percent GST. With this change, the motorcycle moved to the latter category, which helped lower the price.

To reduce the engine displacement from 373cc to 349cc, Bajaj reduced its stroke from 60 mm to 56.1 mm without changing the bore, which remained the same at 89 mm. The resulting 349.13cc engine is the same single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a six-speed gearbox, slip-and-assist clutch and single-spark-plug ignition system. Power and torque were reduced by 2.4 bhp and 1.8 Nm, respectively.

Two Different Dominars In Two Different Markets

This means that buyers in Colombia can buy the 373cc engine-equipped Adventure Edition, while Indian buyers can get a more affordable Dominar 400 with a slightly smaller but still capable 349cc engine. Apart from the engine tune, tyre choice and available variants, both versions remain largely identical.

The Dominar 400 Adventure Edition is targeted at touring enthusiasts who need factory-fitted touring accessories and the ability to carry luggage, while also tackling light off-road trails.
