In the first half of the 2026 financial year, the model accounted for 52 percent of Hyundai's SUV sales. In May alone, the Creta contributed about 32 per cent of all the cars Hyundai sent to dealers.

Competition in the SUV Market

The market for midsize SUVs is growing very fast. In May 2026, car makers sold 117,332 SUVs in this group, much higher than the year before. New cars like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris are already doing well, with more than 10,000 units sold in its very first month. The Kia Seltos also had a great month, with sales rising 74 percent compared to last year to reach 10,597 units.
