Jawa Unveils 1000cc Sport Cruiser Concept at Brno Bike Show - Key Info

Jawa Unveils 1000 Sport Cruiser Concept; 2026 Jawa 42 Launched in India

Jawa's new 1000 Sport Cruiser concept debuts in the Czech Republic with premium components and likely 15-unit production run.

Jawa has made two important announcements recently. At the Brno bike show in the Czech Republic, the company unveiled a new concept called the 1000 Sport Cruiser. It has also launched the updated 2026 Jawa 42 in India.

The Jawa 1000 Sport Cruiser is a large-capacity concept motorcycle. It weighs around 240 kg and has a twin-cylinder engine that can produce 113 bhp. This bike was made along with a Chinese brand called Jedi. It is likely to be a limited-production model, with only 15 units planned.

The concept was designed by Jan Hrbek, who is known for creating some of Jawa’s signature paint schemes. The version shown at the show is a pre-production prototype. The unusual engine casing has led to speculation that it could be a 3D-printed or clay styling prototype.

Even though it is a cruiser, it has many high-performance parts:

  • Brakes: It uses Brembo Stylema brake calipers.

  • Suspension: It has Ohlins suspension at both the front and rear.

  • Exhaust: It features a unique Leo Vince end can.

  • Engine: The engine uses a 270-degree crankshaft layout.

The price is expected to be around ₹56 lakh (£53,000). Because of this high price, it is very unlikely to be launched in India. Jawa has not confirmed when the concept could enter production.

For riders in India, the 2026 Jawa 42 has been launched at a price of ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The biggest update is a new "Ivory" paint color. It still has the classic "42" retro look with chequered-flag graphics, bold decals, and signature badging.

Apart from the new colour, the motorcycle remains the same in terms of its features and mechanicals. It comes with a standard warranty of 4 years or 50,000 km.

The 2026 Jawa 42 is powered by a 294cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine called the "J-Panther." This engine produces 27 bhp of power and 26.8 Nm of torque. It is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and has an assist and slipper (A&S) clutch. These are first-in-segment features. Jawa claims this engine is up to 40% more powerful than other 350cc bikes in the same category.

Jawa is owned by Mahindra’s Classic Legends. Since its return in 2022, the brand has been selling several models in India, including:

  • Jawa Perak

  • Jawa 42 and 42 Bobber

  • Jawa 350

  • Jawa 42 FJ

They also sell adventure and roadster bikes under the Yezdi brand. The unveiling of the 1000 Sport Cruiser concept and the launch of the updated Jawa 42 highlight two very different sides of the brand. While one is an expensive limited-production concept, the other is a more accessible motorcycle aimed at the mainstream Indian motorcycle market.
