How the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Reached 5 Lakh Sales in Just Over 3 Years

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has reached a major milestone in India. It has crossed 5 lakh sales in just over three years since its launch in 2023. This makes it the fastest car in the Nexa portfolio to reach this mark. The Fronx has grown quickly despite competing in a very tough segment with rivals like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet.

Strong Growth in Sales

The Fronx started strong in 2023 by selling 94,393 units, even though it only reached showrooms in April. In 2024, sales jumped to 1,56,236 units. The growth continued in 2025 with 1,79,894 units sold. In the first five months of 2026, Maruti Suzuki has already sold 82,306 units of the crossover.

Monthly sales have also hit record highs. In February 2025, the Fronx crossed 20,000 monthly sales for the first time. In May 2026, it sold 20,686 units, showing that demand for the vehicle remains very high.

Why the Fronx is Popular

One reason for this success is how the car is designed. It combines the practicality of a hatchback with the styling of a crossover, including a sloping roofline, high ground clearance, and a wide stance. This design attracts buyers who want something different from a standard hatchback or a traditional SUV.

The Fronx also offers different engine and transmission options:

• 1.2-litre Engine: This naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 89 hp and 113 Nm. It comes with a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

• 1.0-litre Boosterjet Engine: This turbo petrol engine delivers 99 hp and 147.6 Nm. It is available with a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic.

• CNG Option: A factory-fitted CNG version is also available for those looking for better fuel economy.
