Here's everything we know about the upcoming Brezza, Fronx Hybrid, Baleno, Grand Vitara facelift and Y43 SUV.

Maruti Suzuki plans to strengthen its position in the Indian SUV market by launching five new petrol models by next year. Since the Vitara Brezza arrived in 2016, the company has built a range of six SUV models. Now, the brand is preparing to update its current lineup and introduce new products to keep buyers interested.

1. New Maruti Brezza Facelift

First of all, the new Maruti Brezza facelift is scheduled to debut in Q3 2026. As can be seen from the pictures below, the model will get minor changes to the bumpers, grille, and headlights. The interior of the vehicle will get a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, Maruti can equip the updated model with a brand-new 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine capable of generating 99 hp and producing 147.6 Nm of torque. The CNG version of the car might be fitted with an underbody fuel tank in order to provide additional boot room.

2. Updated Maruti Baleno

Maruti Baleno will be seeing an update in the coming months. Spy images of the sedan reveal an improved-looking radiator grille having a wider horizontal bar along with revised headlamp design and new bumper. The company will be introducing the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine alongside to increase the vehicle's performance.

3. Maruti Fronx Facelift with Hybrid Tech

The Maruti Fronx arrived in April 2023 and is due for an update next year. A camouflaged prototype was recently spotted testing apart from new wheels and redesigned lights, the biggest change will be a new series-hybrid powertrain. It could deliver a fuel economy of around 35 km/l and Fronx will likely launch in early 2027.

4. New Maruti Micro-SUV (Codenamed Y43)

Another SUV in the pipeline will include the upcoming micro-SUV codenamed as Y43. This new offering from Maruti will go head-to-head against the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The Y43 will come equipped with a funky-looking design along with a host of premium features including the sunroof and wireless charging unit. While the company has not shared many details yet, the Y43 could launch in 2027.

5. Maruti Grand Vitara Facelift

The mid-size SUV segment is very competitive right now. To stay ahead, Maruti Suzuki will likely launch a facelift for the Grand Vitara next year. The updated SUV could feature Level 2 ADAS safety technology and a powered driver’s seat and like the Brezza, the Grand Vitara CNG might also get an underbody tank to improve storage space in the back.

Key Rivals

The Brezza will continue to compete against the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO. The Baleno will rival the Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza. Meanwhile, the Fronx facelift will take on the Nexon, Venue, Sonet, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. The upcoming Y43 micro-SUV is expected to challenge the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. In the mid-size SUV space, the Grand Vitara will continue its battle against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.

 Will Hybrid Technology Become Mainstream?

Hybrid technology is becoming increasingly important for Indian car buyers as fuel prices remain high and efficiency continues to be a major purchasing factor. The upcoming Fronx hybrid could help make the technology more accessible to mass-market buyers. Unlike EVs, hybrids do not require charging infrastructure, making them easier to adopt. If priced competitively, hybrid vehicles could become a mainstream choice in the coming years.

Which Model Could Be the Biggest Seller?

Among the five upcoming models, the Fronx facelift appears to have the strongest sales potential. The Fronx has already emerged as one of Maruti Suzuki's fastest-growing products and continues to attract strong demand in the compact SUV segment. The addition of hybrid technology, improved efficiency and updated styling could further boost its appeal. While the Brezza and Baleno are expected to remain volume sellers, As per me the Fronx facelift currently looks best positioned to become the biggest-selling model among Maruti Suzuki's upcoming launches.
