New Renault Duster DCT Brings Automatic Convenience At A Competitive Price

Renault has announced the prices of the new-generation Duster for the Indian market. One of the biggest highlights is the pricing of the DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) variants. Automatic SUVs are becoming more popular among Indian buyers, but many models with dual-clutch automatic gearboxes are often priced much higher. The entry-level Turbo TCe 160 DCT model is priced at Rs. 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable SUVs in India to offer a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Powerful Engine Options for Different Needs

The new Duster comes with multiple engine choices. Buyers looking for strong performance can opt for the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 163 hp and is available with both manual and DCT gearbox options.

Customers who want a more affordable option can choose the 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Renault claims an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 kmpl for this engine, making it one of the more fuel-efficient turbo-petrol SUVs in its segment.

Competition in the Midsize SUV Segment

The new Duster enters one of the most competitive SUV segments in India. It will take on popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Honda Elevate.

With a wide range of variants, multiple powertrain options, and competitive pricing, Renault hopes to attract buyers looking for an alternative to the established players in the segment.

On the outside, the SUV gets LED daytime running lights, automatic LED headlamps, a full-width LED rear light bar, 17-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, and a shark-fin antenna.

Comprehensive Safety Package

Renault has equipped the Duster with a strong list of safety features. The Evolution variant comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, cornering stability control, hill start assist, TPMS, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers.

DCT variants also benefit from an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function for added convenience.

Renault is offering a dual-clutch automatic option at a relatively accessible price point. This could appeal to buyers who want the convenience of an automatic gearbox without moving into a much higher budget bracket.
