Skoda Kodiaq RS India Bookings Open Ahead Of Price Announcement

Only 50 units of the Skoda Kodiaq RS will be offered in India. It comes with a 265 hp engine, AWD and ADAS features

Introduction

Skoda Auto India has started accepting bookings for the much-awaited new Kodiaq RS, which is set to become the brand's most powerful SUV in the country. The performance-focused SUV will be offered in limited numbers, with only 50 units allocated for the Indian market. Customers can reserve the SUV by paying a token amount of Rs 3 lakh. The official price is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with deliveries likely to begin soon after. Positioned above the Laurin & Klement variant, the Kodiaq RS will sit at the top of the Kodiaq lineup. It will be brought to India as a CBU, which may lead to a slightly higher price tag.

Sporty Design

The Kodiaq RS gets several visual upgrades that distinguish it from the standard model. It features a gloss black grille, a sportier RS-specific front bumper, darkened exterior elements and exclusive RS badging. It gets Matrix LED headlamps connected by a light bar running across the grille, helping it stand out from the regular model

It also rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and gets red brake calipers, adding to its sporty appeal. These wheels are wrapped in performance-oriented Hankook tyres. At the rear, it features a full-width lighting element, RS branding and a redesigned bumper. Buyers can choose from four exterior colours: Steel Grey, Velvet Red, Magic Black and Moon White.

Powerful Engine and AWD System

Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, while an all-wheel-drive system comes as standard. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 231 kmph.

It also gets Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Plus with multiple damping settings that allow drivers to adjust ride comfort and handling. The Kodiaq RS is based on the MQB Evo platform and measures over 4.75 metres in length.

Feature-Rich Cabin

Inside, the Kodiaq RS continues to offer a practical three-row seating layout while adding several sporty touches. The cabin gets sport seats with integrated headrests, RS-specific upholstery and unique trim inserts.

Safety and ADAS Features

Skoda has equipped the Kodiaq RS with a long list of safety features. The SUV comes with multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and a 360-degree camera.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are also part of the package. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring and front and rear parking sensors.

Compared to the previous-generation model, the new Kodiaq RS brings significant improvements in technology, safety and overall equipment levels.
