Tata Sierra.ev Confirmed For June 2026 Launch With Up To 500 km Range
Tata Confirms Sierra.ev Launch This Month; ADAS, Triple Screens and AWD Likely
Tata Motors is getting ready to launch the much-awaited Sierra.ev in India. The company has showcased the Sierra.ev several times before, and it is now finally set to reach showrooms this month. Deliveries are expected to start just a few weeks after the official launch.
The new Sierra.ev looks a lot like the petrol and diesel versions of the Sierra, but it has some special touches to show it is electric. At the front, the biggest change is the body-coloured closed grille, which gives the SUV a very clean and futuristic look. It also has a long LED light strip across the front, a split headlight design, LED fog lamps, and cornering lights.
From the side, the car keeps its famous Alpine-style rear glass, flush door handles that sit flat against the body, large ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and muscular body cladding. The only big difference is the new alloy wheels, which are designed to help the car move through the air more easily. At the back, there is a full-width LED light bar, sleek LED tail lamps, a rear defogger, and a rear wiper that is hidden under the spoiler to keep the design looking neat.
Some recent spy shots have given us a look inside the Sierra.ev. Even the lower models seem to have a large 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital screen for the driver. Higher variants are also expected to get the same triple-screen setup seen on the ICE-powered Sierra.
Here are some of the premium features you can expect:
Comfort: A panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Entertainment: A 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Convenience: A 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger, a powered tailgate, rear sunshades, additional storage spaces, a drive selector, and drive mode controls.
Safety: Level 2 ADAS (smart safety features), an electronic parking brake, and a Head-Up Display that shows information on the windshield.
The SUV is also expected to get connected car technology and OTA software updates. It will support Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging, which means you can use the battery to power other devices or even help charge another electric vehicle.
Tata has not shared the exact battery details yet, but reports suggest it could come with 55 kWh and 65 kWh battery options. There is also a possibility that Tata could use the larger 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs from the Harrier.ev.
The Sierra.ev is expected to offer a driving range of up to 500 km on a full charge. For buyers looking for more performance, the top variants could get a dual-motor setup and an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
