TVS RTX 300 Adventure Bike Launching on October 15

TVS to launch RTX 300 ADV on Oct 15; gets 35 bhp, 299cc single, ride modes, TFT display, and dual-channel ABS.

TVS will launch the RTX 300 adventure tourer on 15th October. It gets a new 299 cc RTX D4 single-cylinder engine producing around 35 bhp and 28.5 Nm paired to a 6-speed gearbox along with ADV focused hardware and modern rider aids for daily use and touring roads in India. The bike has a steel trellis frame with USD forks and a rear monoshock, 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheel setup and is expected to get colour TFT, ride modes, traction control, dual channel ABS with switchable function and full LED lighting at launch. This will be TVS’s first adventure motorcycle, positioned against the KTM 250 Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom SX on price and power while sitting below the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in performance.

What TVS will offer

  • Engine and gearbox: 299 cc, liquid-cooled RTX D4 single with about 35 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, 6-speed gearbox; ride-by-wire expected to enable multiple riding modes and traction control.

  • Chassis and wheels: Steel trellis frame, USD fork and monoshock, 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels for mixed-road stability and city agility.

  • Brakes and safety: Front and rear disc brakes with dual channel ABS, likely with switchable rear ABS for gravel-friendly control on trails.

  • Features: Colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, LED lighting and touring friendly add-ons like tall windscreen and luggage mount points as seen on test mules and expo leaks.

Design overview

Leaked images and expo sightings show a semi-faired ADV design with a clear windshield, beak-style front, split seats, slim tail with luggage rack and high-mount exhaust, a road-biased adventure stance with some trail capability. Alloy wheels with dual-purpose tyres, robust fairing and handguard-ready bars for comfort on highways and control on rough roads in this class.

Rivals and positioning

The RTX 300 is for riders who want a touring setup with manageable seat height and real-world torque rather than peak power and it will compete with KTM 250 Adventure and V-Strom SX on price while offering a feature set that is more like bigger ADVs on TFT, modes and traction aids. A competitive price can help it get bookings during the festive season and expand TVS’s Apache family into long distance use with service support that buyers in this segment value.

Analysis

TVS enters the ADV space with a balanced formula: a 300 cc single, long travel suspension, and class relevant electronics that you can feel in daily use and on weekend tours. A road biased 19/17 setup keeps seat height and weight in check for city use while still giving enough plushness and control on broken roads which is perfect for India’s mixed conditions. If it undercuts KTM 250 Adventure while matching its features, the RTX 300 could see strong early adoption among riders upgrading from 150-200 cc commuters who want a first ADV with broad service network and manageable running costs.
