MG Majestor SUV 2026 Launch with 3 Off Road Modes and 19 Inch Wheels

MG Majestor SUV to Challenge Fortuner with 3 Off-Road Modes, 19-Inch Wheels, and Premium Features

MG Motor India is getting ready to make a bold entry into the premium SUV market with its latest model, the Majestor. This full size SUV will be positioned above the Gloster in the MG lineup, marking the company entry into the higher D+ SUV category. The official launch will take place on February 12, 2026 and the Majestor is ready to take on established rivals like the Toyota Fortuner with its size and capabilities.

Powerful Performance for Any Terrain

Under the hood, the Majestor will feature MG strong 2.0 liter four cylinder twin turbo diesel engine. This power unit delivers an impressive 213 bhp and a strong 478 Nm torque. Power is expected to be sent through an automatic gearbox and a selectable four wheel drive system is likely to be available. This setup will help the Majestor handle different challenging conditions, although MG has not yet officially confirmed the exact drivetrain layout.

MG has also started highlighting the off road abilities of the Majestor. The SUV comes with dedicated terrain modes including Rock, Sand and Snow, allowing drivers to optimize performance for different surfaces. These modes work together with chunky 265/65 R19 Apollo Apterra HT tyres that are mounted on large 19 inch two tone alloy wheels. Recent teasers have also shown the SUV tackling tough landscapes at Mount Japfu in Nagaland, proving its strong capabilities.

Commanding Presence and Modern Design

The Majestor uses the body on frame platform of the global Maxus D90 but it has a much more commanding look than the Gloster. The SUV features a muscular grille with dark elements, a split headlamp setup with sharp LED daytime running lights and upright proportions. It also gets wide skid plates and cladding that add to its tough appearance. From the side, the massive size of the vehicle is clearly visible, while the rear gets modern LED tail lamps, bold Majestor badging and large exhaust outlets.

Luxurious and Tech Filled Interior

Inside, the MG Majestor offers a premium experience. It comes with a large touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster that keeps drivers connected and informed. Other comfort and convenience features include a panoramic sunroof, high quality audio system, powered and ventilated seats and three zone automatic climate control. For safety, the MG gets a complete package including Level 2 ADAS technology and a 360 degree camera system.

With an expected price range of Rs. 40 to 45 lakh, the MG is set to make a strong impact in its segment and will compete directly with vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming VW Tayron.

Author's Take:

MG entering the D+ SUV segment with the Majestor is a smart and confident step. The company has built this SUV on a strong body on frame platform and has added a powerful twin turbo diesel engine to take on the Toyota Fortuner directly. Features like special off road driving modes, big 19 inch wheels, Level 2 ADAS and a large touchscreen system make the Majestor a very strong and attractive option. MG has focused on giving buyers both rugged performance and modern luxury in one package. With competitive pricing, the MG clearly shows that MG wants to make a big impact and win a strong position in the premium SUV market.
