Nissan Gravite Compact MPV Set to Launch Tomorrow in India
Nissan Gravite Compact MPV Launch Tomorrow: Price, Features, and Specs
Nissan set to launch its new Gravite MPV, a family-focused vehicle that will compete in the busy market of affordable multi-purpose vehicles. This new model is expected to rival popular cars such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Gravite is likely to be priced between Rs. 5.6 lakh and Rs. 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
After a short delay, Nissan plans to introduce the Gravite tomorrow in India, and customer deliveries could begin as early as next month.
Modern Design and Spacious Interior
The Nissan Gravite features a modern design with styling elements that differentiate it from its French sibling. The vehicle has a tall and upright stance, which helps maximise interior space.
At the front, the Gravite gets Nissan’s signature C-shaped LED lighting, a wide grille, and a bold bumper design. The SUV-inspired styling continues with roof rails, body cladding, and alloy wheels. At the rear, the MPV is expected to feature sharp tail lamps and a sculpted bumper design.
Inside, the Gravite offers a flexible seven-seat layout. The cabin has a flat floor, which enhances the feeling of space. The second-row seats can slide and recline for improved comfort, while the third row is more suitable for shorter journeys.
The rear seats can also fold down, allowing owners to switch between carrying passengers or extra luggage depending on their needs.
Engine and Performance Details
Under the hood, the Nissan Gravite will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine. This engine will be offered in two versions: a naturally aspirated unit and a turbocharged version, giving buyers different performance options.
A five-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, while an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) option will also be available, similar to its sibling, the Renault Triber. Nissan may also introduce a factory-fitted CNG version at a later stage.
The Gravite is based on the same platform as the Renault Triber, and Nissan plans to localise many components in India to keep pricing competitive.
Advanced Features and Safety
The Gravite’s dashboard will include a digital instrument display for the driver and a central touchscreen infotainment system. This system will support wireless smartphone connectivity.
Other expected features include automatic climate control, AC vents for all rows, push-button start, steering-mounted controls, and cruise control. Higher variants may also offer a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and connected car technology.
For safety, the Nissan Gravite is expected to come with six airbags as standard. Other safety features will include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
