Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, S6 Electric Launch Timeline Confirmed
Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 and S6 Electric Motorcycles: Launch Timeline Confirmed
Royal Enfield has confirmed the launch timeline for its first electric motorcycles, the Flying Flea C6 and Flying Flea S6, in India. The announcement was made during the company’s October–December 2025 financial results call. Managing Director and CEO B. Govindarajan shared key details about the rollout plan. Both motorcycles were previously showcased to the public at Motoverse 2025.
With this move, Royal Enfield becomes one of the first established legacy motorcycle brands in India to formally introduce a dedicated electric motorcycle platform. Until now, the company’s portfolio has focused entirely on internal combustion mid-size motorcycles.
Flying Flea C6 Launch Window
According to Govindarajan, the Flying Flea C6 is “almost ready for production.” Based on the company’s guidance, the motorcycle is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of FY 2026–27, which runs from April to June 2026.
Royal Enfield has clarified that the C6 is not being treated as a standalone product launch. Instead, Flying Flea will operate as a separate electric-focused sub-brand under which future EV models will be developed. This structure allows Royal Enfield to build its electric portfolio without altering the identity of its traditional petrol-powered lineup.
To support future growth, the company has expanded annual production capacity at its Chennai manufacturing facility from 14.6 lakh units to 20 lakh units. While this capacity increase supports overall demand, it also provides flexibility as electric production begins.
The company has not announced an exact launch date. However, management indicated that customers can expect to see the C6 within the next quarter of the upcoming financial year. Royal Enfield has also stated that it plans to scale its electric operations gradually rather than accelerate aggressively at launch.
Initial availability is likely to focus on major urban markets, where electric adoption is currently higher and charging access is more practical.
Flying Flea S6 Timeline
The Flying Flea S6 will follow the C6. Royal Enfield has indicated that the S6 will arrive later in the financial year, around the time of EICMA. The model was previously displayed at both EICMA 2025 and Motoverse 2025.
While the company has not released full technical specifications, the S6 is positioned differently from the C6. The C6 is designed primarily for urban commuting, whereas the S6 adopts a scrambler-style layout intended for mixed road use.
Pricing, certified range figures and charging specifications have not yet been officially disclosed. These details are expected closer to launch.
Market Context
India’s electric two-wheeler market has largely been driven by scooters. Electric motorcycles remain a smaller segment, with participation mainly from startups and newer manufacturers. Royal Enfield’s entry brings established dealer infrastructure, service support and brand trust into this category.
However, electric motorcycle adoption in India still depends on pricing, charging convenience and real-world range performance. Royal Enfield’s decision to launch in phases and build a separate EV identity suggests a long-term approach rather than a short-term volume push.
Strategic Assessment
The Flying Flea project represents a structural shift in Royal Enfield’s product strategy. Instead of replacing its core petrol lineup, the company is developing a parallel electric platform. This allows it to test demand, refine technology and scale responsibly.
The success of the C6 and S6 will ultimately depend on competitive pricing, ownership costs and battery reliability, rather than brand heritage alone. If Royal Enfield delivers consistent performance and service support, it could strengthen confidence in electric motorcycles among traditional buyers.
At this stage, the company appears focused on controlled expansion, urban targeting and infrastructure readiness, which aligns with the current maturity level of India’s electric motorcycle market.
