Ultraviolette X-47 Price Drops To Rs 1.49 Lakh With Battery Flex BaaS Plan
Ultraviolette X-47 now starts at Rs 1.49 lakh with Battery Flex BaaS plan and Rs 2,499 monthly battery subscription.
Ultraviolette Automotive has introduced a new ownership option for the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover in India. The company has launched a battery subscription program called Battery Flex, which is based on a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This means riders can buy the motorcycle at a lower price and subscribe to the battery through a monthly plan. With this new system the starting price of the X-47 Crossover comes down to Rs 1.49 lakh ex showroom. Earlier the motorcycle was priced at around Rs 2.50 lakh, where as the new plan reduces the upfront price by nearly 40 percent.
Battery Subscription Plan Explained
The Battery Flex program works through a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model where customers purchase the motorcycle while the battery is financed through a monthly subscription. The subscription starts from Rs 2,499 per month which means riders can spread the battery cost over time instead of paying the full amount upfront.
Ultraviolette is running this program with the support of Ecofy. It focuses on financing clean energy technologies which includes electric vehicles and climate friendly mobility solutions. Customers across India can start enrolling for the Battery Flex plan from March 5, 2026.
Battery Ownership After Subscription
The subscription plan also includes a five year warranty on the battery pack. Once the subscription period ends the battery ownership will be transferred to the customer without any extra payment. This structure lowers the entry price of the motorcycle while still allowing buyers to fully own the battery later.
What the Company Says
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co founder of Ultraviolette, said that the new ownership model changes how riders look at affordability in the performance motorcycle segment. He explained that when the motorcycle was priced at around Rs 2.5 lakh, it was already competing with petrol motorcycles in the same performance category. Now with a starting price of about Rs 1.5 lakh, riders can access higher technology and stronger performance at a lower entry price.
He also noted that a monthly operating cost of Rs 2,499 is lower than the average amount many riders spend on petrol every month.
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co founder at Ultraviolette, said battery technology is the core of every electric vehicle. The company has spent years developing battery systems that deliver strong performance while maintaining safety and long term durability.
According to him the Battery Flex program allows the company to offer this technology in a format that adapts better to customer needs.
Background of the X-47 Crossover
The X-47 Crossover first debuted in India on September 23, 2025. Initial deliveries started in Bengaluru after the Diwali festive season in October. This was introduced as a performance focused electric model with several advanced technologies that are rarely seen in two wheelers.
Radar Based Safety Technology
One of the standout technologies in the motorcycle is its rear radar system. The X-47 uses a 77 GHz long range radar which can monitor vehicles up to 200 metres behind the motorcycle.
This system supports rider assistance features such as blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, overtake alert and rear collision warning. Ultraviolette says it is the first manufacturer to introduce this type of ADAS technology in a motorcycle.
Battery, Performance and Riding Modes
The X-47 Crossover uses a 10.3 kWh battery pack. The company claims the motorcycle can travel up to 323 kilometres on a single charge.
The electric motor produces 40 bhp of power and 100 Nm of torque. This allows the motorcycle to accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in about 2.7 seconds while reaching a top speed of 145 kmph.
Riders can choose between three riding modes which include Glide, Combat and Ballistic. Each mode changes how the motorcycle delivers power depending on the riding style.
High Power Charger Designed for Hot Weather
Ultraviolette also includes what the company describes as the world’s most power dense air cooled onboard charger.
The system is designed to work even in harsh conditions where temperatures can reach up to 50 degrees Celsius. This makes the charger suitable for hot climates where electric vehicles often face charging challenges.
Lower Entry Price Could Bring More Riders to EV Motorcycles
The Battery Flex program mainly focuses on lowering the initial price of the motorcycle. Electric vehicles often cost more at the time of purchase because of the battery which is the most expensive component. By separating the battery cost from the motorcycle price Ultraviolette is trying to make the electric motorcycle easier to buy.
