Tata Sierra EV India Launch 2026: Range, Features and AWD

Tata Sierra EV Coming Soon in India With AWD: Here Is What We Know So Far

Tata Motors has confirmed that the all-electric Sierra will arrive in Indian showrooms during the first quarter of FY27, which means its market entry will happen between April and June 2026. The company has already been testing the SUV extensively on roads, showing that its development is nearing completion before production begins. The Sierra EV will hold a more premium position in Tata’s growing electric lineup, sitting above the Curvv EV.

Battery Options and Impressive Range

The Sierra EV will likely share many parts with the Tata Harrier EV. It will probably offer two battery options: a 55 kWh pack, similar to the one in the Curvv EV, and a larger 65 kWh unit from the Harrier EV. With the bigger battery, drivers can expect a real-world driving range that comfortably exceeds 500 km per charge. The car will support DC fast charging, and Tata also plans to include vehicle-to-load (V2L) and bidirectional charging functionality.

Designed for a Premium Experience

This new electric SUV aims to attract buyers who desire a midsize SUV with a strong presence on the road, a luxurious interior, and a long driving range. Tata expects to offer both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. Underneath its stylish body, the Sierra EV will use Tata’s Acti.ev+ skateboard platform, a special electric vehicle architecture that will also support several other upcoming electric models.

A Digital and Feature-Rich Interior

Tata is preparing a highly digital interior environment for the Sierra EV, centered around a three-screen layout. This setup includes a digital driver’s display, a large infotainment unit, and a dedicated passenger-side screen. Even the entry-level models are expected to come well-equipped, while higher variants may introduce advanced features such as Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), connected car technology, powered front seats, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Modern Design with Classic Touches

While the Sierra EV keeps the tall, boxy look of the original Sierra, the electric version features several modern updates. It includes a closed-off grille section, a full-width LED DRL (Daytime Running Light) signature, and split headlamp clusters. The design will also showcase newly designed alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, muscular wheel arches, and contrast-finished bumpers, along with a connected LED light bar.

Expanding Tata’s EV Portfolio

Tata recently launched the updated Tata Punch EV, and the first production model from the Avinya line will arrive before the end of this calendar year. These new additions will further strengthen the brand’s electric vehicle offerings in the market.
