2027 KTM 790 Duke Unveiled With New Design And Suspension Updates
2027 KTM 790 Duke arrives with design updates, improved ergonomics and suspension revisions.
The 2027 KTM 790 Duke has been unveiled for international markets with a facelifted look, upgraded ergonomics, new hardware and suspension updates. In addition, the company has been able to shave off 2 kg of its weight compared to the earlier model. At the moment, the 790 Duke is not sold in India. But if KTM launches this motorbike in the country in the future, it would fit between 390 Duke and 990 Duke in the naked motorbike segment of the company.
What’s New On The 2027 KTM 790 Duke?
One of the significant changes has been made to the design of the motorcycle. This motorbike gets a redesigned LED headlamp in a style inspired by the bigger siblings like 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R. Its bodywork is refreshed with smoother lines and a larger front fairing and a revised fuel tank. Moreover, KTM has done away with the old exhaust system and muffler to give a sharper look to this motorbike.
In addition, the riding position has been totally changed. According to KTM, this motorbike has got a redesigned rider triangle featuring a new handlebar and updated rider and passenger footrests. It also gets an improved seat.
Comfort And Upgrades
The 2027 KTM 790 Duke has got a new subframe and updated triple clamps to improve the comfort level and handling of the rider. Moreover, it uses Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, along with a WP steering damper.
There is another significant change that includes the use of KTM-developed WP radial brakes. The new WP braking system has been developed in-house by KTM.
This motorbike has got updated WP Apex suspension components at the front and rear ends. At the front end, this bike gets 43 mm open-cartridge forks that feature adjustable compression and rebound damping with 150 mm of travel. At the back, the motorbike has a gas-charged mono-tube shock absorber that has got adjustable rebound and preload settings with 170 mm wheel travel. Riders can easily make suspension adjustments using an easy-to-use five-click adjustment dial.
The 2027 KTM 790 Duke continues to be powered by the same 799 cc LC8c parallel-twin engine. It develops 105 hp in the standard version and 95 hp in the A2 licence-compliant variant. The engine is EURO 5+ compliant.
Demo Mode to be Discontinued
KTM will no longer offer the Demo Mode feature on future motorcycles. The feature allowed riders to use some electronic functions for a limited period before paying to unlock them permanently. However, many customers were not convinced by the idea. KTM says rider feedback was one of the main reasons behind the decision to remove it.
Availability
KTM will also provide owners with a wide range of PowerParts and PowerWear accessory items. The 2027 KTM 790 Duke will reach authorised KTM dealerships from the end of July, although availability will vary depending on the market.
