Ampere Reo VYB Electric Scooter Launched At Rs 69,499 With 80 Km Range

The new Ampere Reo VYB comes with an LFP battery, 80 km range and a starting price of Rs 69,499.

Ampere has launched its new Reo VYB electric scooter in India at an introductory price of Rs 69,499 (ex-showroom). Aimed at family buyers and those looking for an affordable electric scooter for daily use, the scooter comes with a standard warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km. Ampere has over 400 service centers across India and offers 12x7 customer support to help owners whenever they need it.

Powering the scooter is a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, which Ampere claims can last for up to 1 lakh kilometres. On a full charge, the Reo VYB offers a claimed range of 80 km, while a hub-mounted motor placed in the rear wheel helps it reach a top speed of 25 kmph. This setup makes it suitable for short daily trips around the city and nearby areas.

The Reo VYB is available in four colours: Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey and Aqua Metallic. It comes with several useful features, including a large 24-litre under-seat storage compartment, a colour LCD digital display that shows speed and battery information, LED headlamp and tail lamp, keyless start with a smart key fob and a front disc brake.

Compact and easy to ride in city traffic, the Reo VYB comes with suspension at both the front and rear to improve comfort on uneven roads. It also gets a rider footrest for added convenience.

Speaking about the launch, Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, said that buyers in smaller cities and towns are looking for reliable and affordable electric scooters. According to the company, the Reo VYB has been developed to meet those daily commuting needs.

In the Indian market, the Reo VYB will compete with models such as the Hero Vida VX2 and TVS Orbiter V1. Ampere also sells the Magnus Neo, which is priced at Rs 86,999 and offers a higher top speed of 65 kmph along with a claimed range of 118 km. While the Magnus Neo is aimed at buyers looking for more performance and range, the new Reo VYB focuses on affordability and everyday usage.
