BMW F 450 GS Bookings Halted as First Batch Sold Out In India

Dealers across India have temporarily paused bookings for the F 450 GS after the first batch sold out

If you were planning to book the BMW F 450 GS, you may have to wait a little longer as dealers across India have temporarily stopped accepting bookings. It was launched in April 2026 at a price of ₹4.70 lakh, and it seems like everyone wants one. The move comes after the first batch allocated for the Indian market was completely sold out. The next batch is not expected until August or September 2026.

Long Waiting Periods in Major Cities

We previously shared that the waiting time for the F 450 GS has reached five months in cities like New Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru. While BMW India has not officially said why bookings are paused, dealers are telling customers that they simply don't have any more bikes from the first batch.

One reason for the long wait is that the bike is very popular in other countries too. Even though it is made right here in India at the TVS factory in Hosur, many of the bikes are being exported to Europe and the UK.

Although series production started in late November 2025, waiting periods remain high because of strong demand and export commitments.

New Engine and Smart Features

Power comes from a newly developed 420cc twin-cylinder inline engine. It produces 47 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm and paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The F 450 GS also comes with some very smart technology:

  • Easy Ride Clutch (ERC): This is a first-in-segment feature that makes the clutch very easy to use.

  • Shift Assistant Pro: This lets you change gears up and down smoothly without using the clutch.

  • Extras: It also has a USB-C charging port, heated grips to keep your hands warm, and adjustable levers.

A True GS Design

The F 450 GS looks like a classic BMW adventure bike. The F 450 GS carries BMW's classic GS adventure bike styling and uses a strong steel frame. Some of the key design features include:

  • Lights: A cool "X" shaped full LED headlight.

  • Look: The classic front beak, split seats, and body-colored side panels.

  • Comfort: A tapered aluminum handlebar and a seat height of 845 mm.

  • Fuel: The fuel tank can hold 14 litres of petrol.

It comes in three different versions: Base, Exclusive, and GS Trophy.

Suspension and Brakes

For a smooth ride, the bike uses USD front forks and a double-armed rear swingarm with progressive damping. Braking duties are handled by a floating single-disc unit at the front and a single disc at the rear. BMW also offers many accessories like luggage bags, protection guards, and navigation tools for those who want to go on long trips.
