Nissan Tekton Spy Shots Reveal Production-Ready Rear Design
Nissan Tekton Rear Design Revealed in New Spy Shots: Here’s What We Saw
The upcoming Nissan Tekton has been spotted testing again, and this time, the latest spy shots offer the clearest look yet at its rear design. These new spy images show the production-ready version of the SUV, revealing many exciting details. The Tekton will sit above the Magnite and the Gravite in Nissan's India lineup, and it is the next major launch for the brand after the Gravite.
Inspired by the Global Nissan Patrol
Nissan has given the Tekton a very different design direction compared to its sibling, the Renault Duster. While both cars share the same platform, the Tekton looks more upright and boxy. Its styling appears to take inspiration from the global Nissan Patrol, giving the SUV a more rugged look.
Front Design
Teasers already showed the "TEKTON" lettering on the bonnet, a wide grille with horizontal detailing, and a red accent strip.
Side Profile
The SUV has a raised central bonnet, vertical daytime running lights (DRLs), and large outside mirrors.
Roof Rails
The spy shots confirm that the Tekton will come with functional roof rails on both sides and a boxy shoulder line.
Bold and Modern Rear Design
The latest spy shots reveal a clean and modern rear design. It features production-spec LED tail lamps that are connected by a slim, full-width light strip running across the tailgate. Below the rear windshield, there is a wide black panel with the Nissan badge in the center. The main tail lamps are rectangular and sit at the very edges, giving the SUV a wider appearance.
Just like the front, the "TEKTON" name is spread across the lower part of the tailgate, below the number plate. The rear bumper has thick black cladding, silver-finished lower inserts, and horizontal reflector housings on both sides. You can also see a high-mounted stop lamp under the roof spoiler and a rear wiper that sits directly on the tailgate glass.
Engine
Nissan has not officially shared the engine details yet. However, the Tekton is expected to share its turbo-petrol engine options with the new Renault Duster. Nissan has not yet confirmed the final powertrain lineup for the India-spec model. There is also a possibility of a hybrid version, though that is not confirmed yet.
Rivals
When it launches, the Tekton will enter the busy midsize SUV segment. It will compete against big names like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It will also face competition from the Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.
