Renault will launch the updated Kwid facelift in India on July 3, 2026. The refreshed hatchback is likely to bring a new design, more features, and an improved cabin while keeping its affordable pricing. The Kwid has remained one of Renault's most popular cars in India, especially among first-time buyers looking for a stylish budget hatchback.

2026 Renault Kwid Facelift Design

The new Kwid facelift is likely to retain its SUV-inspired styling while getting a more modern look. Renault could update the front grille, bumpers, and lighting to match its latest global design language. The refreshed model is also expected to draw design inspiration from the Dacia Spring EV sold in international markets, with earlier spy shots hinting at similar styling elements.

One of the noticeable changes may be the new Y-shaped LED lighting, giving the hatchback a sharper and more premium appearance. At the rear, the car could receive redesigned tail lamps and a revised bumper and Top-spec variants may also get a new set of alloy wheels.

Despite these updates, the Kwid will continue to be a compact hatchback that is easy to drive and park in city traffic. It is also likely to retain its high ground clearance, one of the model's biggest strengths.

2026 Renault Kwid Facelift Interior and Features

Inside, the cabin could feature a redesigned dashboard with updated technology. One of the biggest highlights may be a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a digital instrument cluster.

Renault has not confirmed whether these figures will change for the facelift.

Buyers may get two gearbox options:

Renault has not officially confirmed whether a CNG version is under development.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Renault Kwid facelift could be priced between Rs 4.80 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio in India's entry-level hatchback segment.

Analysis 

The Renault Kwid facelift could come with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and rear parking sensors. However, these are not new additions. The current Kwid sold in India already offers these safety features as standard across all variants.

The current India-spec Renault Kwid received a 1-star Global NCAP safety rating in 2016. Renault has not yet shared details about the crash safety of the upcoming facelift or confirmed whether it includes any structural safety improvements. Buyers should wait for official information or future crash-test results before drawing conclusions about its safety performance.

Renault also builds different versions of the Kwid for export markets from its Chennai plant. Earlier versions sold in South Africa and Brazil came with additional safety equipment, including seatbelt pretensioners, extra airbags, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. These models achieved higher crash-test ratings under their respective NCAP programmes. However, these tests were conducted on earlier models using different crash-test protocols, so they should not be directly compared with the upcoming India-spec facelift.
