Tesla Starts Deliveries of 6-Seater Model Y L In India At Rs 61.99 Lakh

Tesla has expanded its electric vehicle lineup in India with the start of deliveries for the new Model Y L. The three-row electric SUV joins the brand’s growing portfolio, offering increased seating capacity, a long driving range, and advanced technology. With this launch, Tesla is set to compete more strongly against other electric SUVs in the segment, including the BYD Sealion 7, Kia EV6, BMW iX1 LWB, and Volvo EC40

 Model Y L:

The Model Y L is now the top-spec version of the Model Y family in India, priced at Rs. 61.99 lakh. Unlike the standard Model Y, this new version comes with three rows of seats, offering space for six people. Tesla designed this vehicle to be very flexible inside, allowing for plenty of room for luggage too.

One of the best things about the Model Y L is how far it can go on a single charge. It can travel up to 681 kilometers, according to WLTP tests which makes it one of the electric SUVs with the longest driving range available in the country right now. When it comes to speed, this electric SUV can reach from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.0 seconds.

Introducing the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive

Alongside the Model Y L, Tesla has introduced the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive variant for the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 50.89 lakh, the five-seater electric SUV is scheduled to begin deliveries next month. It offers up to 2,138 litres of cargo space, a WLTP-certified range of up to 500 km on a single charge and reaches 100 kilometers per hour from a standstill in 5.9 seconds.

Practicality and Easy Ownership

Both new Model Y versions offer plenty of cargo space. The Model Y L can carry up to 2,539 liters of luggage when the seats are folded. To make buying easier, Tesla is also offering flexible finance options. Monthly payments for the Model Y L start at Rs. 49,990, while the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive starts at Rs. 39,990 per month. Buyers can bring home the Model Y L with a down payment of around Rs. 6.50 lakh, while the Premium Rear-Wheel Drive requires about Rs. 6 lakh upfront.

Top Safety and After-Sales Support

Tesla highlights that both the Model Y L and Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive have received top safety ratings from many international crash test groups. These include NHTSA and IIHS in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.

For service, Tesla currently has service centers in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi, and Pune. More centers are planned to open this quarter in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. The company’s after-sales plan includes remote checks, software updates over the air, and connected car technology.
