Mahindra XEV 9E Cinelux Edition Gets New Satin Desert Myst Colour

Mahindra XEV 9E Cinelux Edition now gets a new Satin Desert Myst colour along with its premium cabin

Mahindra, India's largest SUV maker, has added a new colour option to the Cinelux Edition of its flagship XEV 9E. The Cinelux trim sits at the top of the XEV 9E coupe-style electric SUV range and launched a few months ago with only two colour choices, Satin White and Satin Black. Buyers now have a third option called Satin Desert Myst to choose from.

A New Satin Finish Joins the Lineup

The Satin Desert Myst shade is the main highlight of this update. Unlike a standard glossy paint job, a satin finish tends to give a vehicle a deeper, more refined look, and the XEV 9E follows that pattern. The finish also draws more attention to the SUV's sharp body lines and coupe-inspired shape than a glossy coat typically would.

Mahindra first introduced the Cinelux Edition on March 1st this year, offering it only in Satin Black and Satin White. With Satin Desert Myst now added, customers looking for a more premium exterior have one more option at their disposal.

Richer Cabin Materials

Along with the new paint option, the Cinelux Edition brings a new upholstery combination inside the cabin. Buyers can now opt for Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black smooth-grain leatherette seats. Mahindra says it has focused on surface detailing, texture refinement, and tactile quality with this edition, with the aim of making the cabin feel more upscale.

A Cabin Built Around Technology

Beyond the new colour and materials, the XEV 9E Cinelux continues to offer one of the more feature-loaded cabins in its segment. Its panoramic display setup remains a defining feature, stretching across most of the dashboard's width. Three connected 31.24 cm screens make up this setup: one for the digital instrument cluster, one for the central infotainment display, and a third dedicated to the front passenger.

Mahindra's own MAIA platform, short for Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture, runs much of this technology. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor, paired with 24 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage to support smooth operation of the SUV's connected and infotainment features.

The SUV's other features add to an already long list: a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, a Mahindra VisionX augmented reality head-up display, a panoramic glass roof, Level 2+ ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, and an automatic parking function called Auto Park.

More Convenience Features

The Cinelux Edition also introduces a few features aimed at everyday convenience. A Digital Key now lets owners unlock and start the vehicle through digital authentication instead of relying only on a physical key. Mahindra has paired this with Secure 360 Pro and personalised driver profiles, which can automatically adjust seat position, ambient lighting, and display settings depending on who is driving.

Climate control also gets three dedicated HVAC modes. Camp Mode keeps the cabin comfortable while the SUV is parked and occupants want to use the space. Keep Mode holds the cabin at a set temperature even when the vehicle is left unattended. PawPal Mode is built specifically for pet owners, helping maintain a safe and comfortable cabin temperature for pets left inside for short periods.

Battery, Range, and Performance Stay the Same

Mechanically, nothing about the XEV 9E Cinelux Edition has changed. It continues to be based on the range-topping Pack Three variant, which uses a 79 kWh battery pack. Mahindra claims this pack can deliver over 500 km of real-world range, with a certified range of 656 km on a full charge.

Charging support comes from a 175 kW DC fast charger, which Mahindra says can take the battery from 20 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes. A rear-mounted electric motor drives the SUV, producing 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Multiple drive modes are also available, allowing drivers to adjust how the SUV responds based on their preference.
