Honda 2-Wheeler Sales Jan 2026: Activa Surges, Shine 125 Falls

Honda 2-Wheeler Sales January 2026: Activa Leads as Shine 125 Slows Down

The Honda Activa sits at the very top of the portfolio and continues to dominate the market. The scooter registered 2,71,924 units in January 2026. This represents a huge 63 percent year-on-year increase over January 2025. The Activa alone outsold most of the brand's motorcycle range combined.

Shine 125 Holds Second Position

The Shine 125 secures the second place with 1,35,076 units. However, the model posted an 11 percent year-over-year decline. This decline demonstrates rising competition in the commuter category.

CB Unicorn 160 Ranks Third

The CB Unicorn 160 followed in the third position with 35,710 units. This motorcycle maintains a strong presence in the lineup.

Standard Shine Shows Strong Performance

The standard Shine performed strongly and climbed 55 percent year-over-year to 26,148 units. This growth indicates solid market acceptance for this variant.

Dio Models Record Mixed Results

The Dio dropped 44 percent to 13,855 units last month. The Dio 125 recorded a domestic tally of 11,607 units. This model did not have a prior-year comparison available.

CB 125 Hornet And CB 350 Performance

The CB 125 Hornet logged a tally of 8,752 units in January 2026. The CB 350 jumped dramatically 224 percent year-over-year to 5,500 units. This represents one of the highest growth rates in the entire lineup.

Commuter Models Face Challenges

The Livo slipped 9 percent to 4,433 units. The SP160 fell 51 percent to 2,474 units. These commuter staples experienced declining sales.

Premium Models Show Stability

The H'ness remained nearly unchanged at 2,302 units. Year-over-year performance was essentially flat. Smaller volume models like the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X posted modest declines and single-digit growth respectively.

Zero Dispatch Models

Several products recorded zero dispatches in January 2026. The Dream, CB Unicorn 150 and CB500 were all part of this list. These models did not register any sales during the month.

Activa E And QC1 Struggle

The electrified Activa E registered only 224 units. The model has not been received well amongst customers as QC1 stayed at zero dispatches.

Market Concentration Analysis

Honda's sales health currently rests heavily on a few mass-market scooters and commuter motorcycles. While premium offerings are showing pockets of rapid growth, it remains to be seen whether they can maintain the momentum. The brand will need to sustain this performance over coming months.

Overall Sales And Market Position

The Japanese auto major posted 5,19,579 units in January 2026. This compares against 4,02,977 units during the same period in 2025. Year-over-year growth reached close to 29 percent.

Honda was very close to beating Hero MotoCorp for the number one position last month. The competition between these two brands remains intense in the two-wheeler market.
